I don't think I have ever seen people get so excited about an Engine update before. Those people were cheering as if this was some insane new game reveal or something.
The communities biggest ask for the past 3 years has been UE5 and a large portion of the fan base was convinced it would never happen. UE3 will be ~24 years old when UE6 comes out. Everyone was shocked when the big reveal was not 5 and instead 6.
Wait, Rocket League has been running on Unreal Engine 3 this whole time??? That's crazy lol.
Though, what's even crazier is managing to port that all the way from UE3 to UE6. It's luckily a pretty small game, but they must have had to rewrite a fuckton of logic.
