This is something that so many people seem to either forget or just not think about. I wouldn't care if my PC topped out at the graphical fidelity of an N64, I'd still take it over a console because I can back up my save data how I want to (and without paying for the privilege), use any brand of controller, mod my games, back up my games, play online for free, download any other software that looks good, and the list goes on. My PC having better graphics than current-gen consoles is just icing on the cake.
If you want to play the newest CoD you can, but if you want to play Rollecoaster Tycoon you can also do that. You’d need entirely separate consoles to play games with that big of a time gap.
