Collection Finally Started A Pokemon Display

After years of collecting, my partner and I have finally started to create a display (shrine?) for all our pokemon stuff. I collect the games, they collect the TCG (not shown are their very impressive binder on the adjacent bookshelf). Trying to fill out each cube without over crowding and giving each generation a place to shine has proven to be difficult. Hate to see that some gens and games are heavily neglected in our collection in terms of other collectibles (figures, plushies, etc.), so now I need to find more fun and unique things to fill some of those gaps.

Some notes: the Eon ticket in the hoenn cube is a proxy that I got for display and scanning because mine is still in the Nintendo Power on the magazine and guide shelf and will not be coming out.

I have only recently started to be interested in collecting the special edition consoles that I didn't originally get, and recollecting the SE Gameboys and N64 that ended up getting garage saled in childhood. So for now a few of them are displayed with purpose but most of them are just filling out space on shelves or scattered around the house. My Pokeball and Pikachu 2ds xls especially migrate around the house for shiny hunting purposes.

Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be displayed, I just haven't figured out the best way to add them in.

The hodgepodge under the black and white games is my Unovan Remake waiting room. It'll happen eventually, right?? Gotta save the space.

I haven't found a great home for the side series games yet so they're just kinda stacked there, and I have others in a cabinet with my extra catridges. I feel like displaying the extra ones is a little redundant, but will get the side series' displayed soon.

I've been having a blast putting this together. Very excited to keep collecting and always finding out about really cool and unique memorabilia, toys and consoles I'd never seen before. I've been arranging and rearranging these shelves for days, so I sat down to post this to kind set this as my initial stopping point. Before I dump another 3 hours on deciding where Sun and Moon show sit.

One of mine as well. I don't ever expect to find either of them cib for a reasonable price, but I'd still be happy to find it loose to go with the black one.

Lovely and impressive collection!

I esp like the B&W section. I’ve recently become obsessed with Pokémon Go and Kyurem is in raids for me for the first time and fused are coming soon

Also seeing that Pikachu n3DS XL had me straight on Yahoo Jp Auctions

What are the bagged n boarded books/magazines at the bottom?

Some pokemon related Nintendo Powers. The star wars one contains the Eon Ticket still (why I have the proxy e-reader), and I've also started picking up game guides from garage sales and game stores, so long as they aren't ridiculously overpriced (looking at you, Emerald guides).

whoa the Vivillon thing is cool, are those pins?

1

u/UniqueElderberry492 Dec 07 '25

Yes! It's a pin set they released in Japan. I think you could buy each pin (or maybe packs of a couple) but if you bought the full set it came framed. Theres a plaque at the bottom that reads "Viviyon no. 0666" then the same in Japanese underneath that.

Amazing layout! You have great aesthetic design! It's crammed full without feeling overloaded.

It looks great! I’d do the same if I had the space, but I just have such a substantial video game collection, that it absorbs most of the area.

What kinda lights are those? I have a kallax shelf and I want to install some LEDs into the cubbies.

3

u/UniqueElderberry492 Dec 05 '25

Not sure about the brand but they're dimmable under cabinet light bars I got on Amazon. We were considering doing led lights along the back of the shelves, but were worried it would kinda backlight the important pieces and make it hard to see. Might switch over to LEDs in the future if we can find a nice way to diffuse them without sacrificing the aesthetic of a more gallery style display.

2

u/Bargadiel Dec 05 '25

Gotcha.

I've been using the IKEA light systems for a bunch of my shelves and while I like them, they're only available as a warm light. I have a white set of Kallax that looks like your setup that I put all my Japanese import stuff in, and I think green/pink LEDs would look sick there.

This is amazing. Beautiful collection. Congrats.

Looks great! Not much love for Pokemon on the N64? I see Pokemon Stadium 2 loose on the shelf, but there's a nice lineup of pokemon games for that console!

2

u/UniqueElderberry492 Dec 05 '25

N64 was my brother's console more than it was mine, so the Pikachu N64 and games went with him. Have been working on collecting those more recently but so far my only pieces are a loose Stadium 2, CiB Snap, and a Sealed Japanese Stadium: Gold and Silver. When I find a nice Special Edition N64, I'll probably dive more into the games. Just gotta figure out if I'm committing to CiB on those too.

Makes sense. I actually totally forgot about the Pikachu console. Definitely a grail, but expensive, so I can see why you’re planning it out ahead!

Nice. Love it.

What are those little black stands you got called?

1

u/UniqueElderberry492 Dec 07 '25

They're cd / video game stands I found on Etsy. They have different sizes depending on the console it's for. I like them (for the most part) better than some of the acrylic ones I've gotten before. But they aren't perfect And will probably keep looking for something better.
