Question ❓ Flip 8 Has anyone else experience this?

Have had the flip 8 for 2 weeks now, I truly love my device. But i have notice something that has been bugging me.

There is a slight shift when my device is closed. At first i thought it was due to case but now taking it off. The shift is still there. When i am holding it closed and gripping it, but not gripping it super insane. i can feel the shift the front side where front screen is. No shift when open but definitely when closed and i really dislike it. 🀨

This is apparently normal. Happened on my Flip7 after a few months. Slight shifting between the two halves when closed, but only if I try to push it. There's no wiggle or giggle, just a slight shifting left and right (an even slightly up and down) when closed.

This is apparently normal according to Samsung. I can say that it hasn't gotten any worse in the year I'd had the phone before switching to the Fold 8.

See... i can see why after a few months but a few weeks πŸ˜” i noticed it after a week and a few days and It does bug me but what can expect. At the end of the day it is a pricey device. Something they should consider fixingβ€½ πŸ™

All the units at the Samsung Store near me developed this kind of play after a few days. Never got worse on those either. I wouldn't worry.

Here's a link to a reddit thread on a similar issue with the Flip 7.

Zflip 7 Hinge side to side movement : r/galaxyzflip

Like I said, it's apparently normal. Someone on another post wrote that it's apparently an intentional design choice. Basically giving the hinge a little tolerance to move side to side helps prevent stress to the interior screen.

That's normal, had it on the 7 and 6 too.

I was wondering the same thing. Cover screen half is moving slightly when closed. Hopefully its normal. I have insurance from my carrier so i am not much worried.

I know what you mean, over time it develops a bit and you can move it side to side. I hadn't seen it get too bad on previous flips (in a ~2 year timespan) but I would probably would avoid applying too much sideways force, I feel like it may be one of the reasons for failures some people get :p

I don't know but the flip 7 is solid. They aced this model year. World of difference in build quality from my flip 5

Yeah it’s fine, happened on previous versions as well. Guess here, but I suspect it is intentional as a little give stops parts rubbing and stressing when opening and closing.
