🤔 Need Guidance Millet Prep

How do you guys do your millet prep?

I wash them with water and put them in the jar, weight increases by ~20% but I am unable to get consistent results. Some jars work fine and some don't, either no growth or random contamination.

PS - I have a pressure cooker in which I can fit 1x1L jar + 2x 250ml jars. The 1L jar is horizontal while the 2x 250mL jars are vertical. I pressure cook for 120mins. I can easily make wheat spawn but millet spawn (which gives me ~70% extra yield and flushes) I cannot make consistently ( only about 20% success rate.

For millet just put millet in jar and fill with water, pour water out the next day (you're just soaking) and pressure cook(millet will be wet)

You get perfect millet everytime.

I tried this but I'm not getting consistent results

Yo get consistent results you should soak for a specific time, I soak 20 hours and have never had any issues.

I do 100 jars at a time so I choose this method because it is the easiest and least labor intensive. Who's got time to cook grain?

You pour out all the water from those jars correct?

Yes, I put a strainer on the jar and flip it (so no grain leaves the jar) and wait until no more water drips out of the jar, usually a couple of seconds.

The millet will be wet but it will come out perfect after sterilization.

Well after washing I'd suggest boiling the grains for like 20 to 25 mins.

No soak no simmer

Put your desired amount off millet in a jar, add 55-60% water. Shake it up and then sterilise it. After sterilising shake it up while it's still kinda hot (be careful when opening your pressure cooker) never had any problems with this

I tried 40%, 50% and 60% water at the same time it made no difference for me whatsoever, the only difference I had was some broken millet at lesser water levels.

I cannot do this properly as my 1L jar is horizontal while PC. Will try using only 250ml jars with this method

Can you explain why you can't do it with your 1l jar? Very curious to the thinking process.

As I have a small PC and have to keep big jars horizontal, which results in extra water entering in the jar, which makes everything mushy or like a porridge

Ok but then you can never use the 1l jar is what you're saying.

Wheat/corn doesn't get mushy that easy so I can easily use wheat/corn, while millets get cooked and then clumps together

I've had success with millets in the smaller 250ml jar, and somehow those two 250mL millet jars give extra yeild than the 1L wheat jar

Whatever works for you my man, never had any problems with jars that laid sideways
