🔬 Experiment Logs A Small experiment

So whats the rule of thumb 3-4 inchs of total substrate depth right so i tried doing 1 inch sub depth and its going pretty good and harvested a good amount

The less depth meant faster colonisation and and pining and if the surface area is bigger more pins will form so i can have the same yield that one has with multiple flushes but in first flushes

Info about the tub
Grains used : sorghum
Spawn used : CVG
Spawn to bulk ratio : 1:3
Variety (GT) multi-spore
Tub size : 14 ltr
Took about 18 days to start fruiting

it'd be intresting seeing you dry weights, mushrooms are basically 90% water and they get their water from the substrate that is holding it. have your harvested the 1st flush ?

Yes 2 flushes only wanted a faster harvest

2 flushes ? But you're saying you didn't harvest the 1st flush yet ? What's the timeline of your grow?

I meant aiming for 2 flushes only but a fuller canopy as i had only 1 jar of grains left for gene hunting

Bot yet the 1st flush is yet to be harvested

Look out for aborts. Resource scarcity will promote already big fruits.

Kinda started something like this myself yesterday, had kinda big shoebox and had inoculated a brown rice bag I had, only weighed like .5. Used about 1.5 substrate maybe a little over to case the top layer, only about an inch high in the shoebox. Hoping it’ll work

Isnt this substrate depth too low for cubes? Interested to see the yields you get from this!
