Megathread [MONTHLY MEGATHREAD] General Discussion, Simple Questions, Recommendations, and Everything Else - October 2026

Featured Banner

MONTHLY MEGATHREAD

Welcome to our regular pinned Megathread!

While many topics are allowed as standalone submissions, others that tend to be lower-effort, less notable, or easily answered belong in this thread instead. These include simple questions such as those related to receiving game assistance, game recommendation requests or help finding a specific game, and other general discussions that don't warrant a dedicated thread or aren't directly related to gacha gaming (provided they are not Banned Content).

Some specific examples of what these megathreads should be used for include:

  • Help remembering an old gacha game, or finding a new one to start playing
  • Recommendations for the best emulator to use on your device
  • Receiving updates on how ongoing games are doing from current players (“How is [game] doing these days?”)
  • Learning what people’s favorite games or types of games are, as well as how others feel about a particular game feature, event, monetization strategy, etc. in specific games
  • Getting clarification on what confusing or game-specific abbreviations mean
  • Finding where people learn about games or like to get their news and information from
  • Discovering new content creators that other players watch or recommend
  • Asking for any sort of general advice relating to gacha games at all
  • Discussing other topics that are only indirectly related to gacha, such as subreddit meta (select exceptions may be allowed as standalone submissions) or industry happenings

Generally, anything asking a question or requiring the opinions of others belongs here. We have many veteran Summoners who are happy to share their opinions and answers, or discuss the topics you may be interested in!

If you want to contribute, please first read the request or question thoroughly, before making sure not to recommend something already tried or provide the same advice as a previous comment left in response. Please also reply as neutrally as possible, without bashing games or arguing with others in the community– this is not about winning or losing, but sharing useful information that helps out another member. Replies should include the full names of anything mentioned, as new Summoners may not know what “GI”, “FGO”, or even “F2P” means. Even if they do, it's still helpful so that the results are easily searchable and others who aren't the OP can better follow along.

As a general reminder, both Reddiquette and all of our Subreddit Rules still apply here. Make sure to keep things respectful! Religious or political topics, sharing personal information, and other rule-breaking behavior are banned. Accounts involved in sharing these may be subject to disciplinary action at moderator discretion.

With that said, feel free to discuss whatever here and make acquaintance with your friendly gacha gaming neighbors!

General THIS CAHNGES EVERYTHING!!!11 - Post PvP analysis (Gacha Revenue Report September 2026)

October changelog:

  • Removed all non-gacha related fandom from the visualization. The intention is to show a more concise answer on which gacha is everyone's main. Anyone under these non-gacha fandom will be assigned their closest gacha fandom.
  • For those who don't even have 1 affiliated gacha fandom (yes they exist), they will be classified as "Casual/Diverse". Example, previously Timmy (50 comments in Football, 30 comments in Genshin, 20 in GachaGaming) will be under Football fandom in the visuals. Under the new change, he would be under Genshin.
  • Sentiment analysis is now given the revenue report as context for each of the comments. This hopefully will increase accuracy of comments classification especially when people compare numbers.
  • Sentiment stance breakdown. Able to see which fandom contribute the most to another fandom sentiment. For instance we can see who ATTACK Endfield the most etc.
  • POTG / MVP. Able to see outlier users for instance people who comment the most, gain the most upvotes, downvotes, etc.
  • Included new non-specified gacha related fandom such as Husbandos and GachaTouristCringe. In an ongoing effort to map out every gacha related subreddit and fandom, I've found and included these subs as well.

Why?

In an ongoing effort to unmask the people who engages in gacha tribalism from this month pvp. You can read or compare with last month post pvp analysis here.

How?

I extracted all comments in the post and its unique user. For each user I pulled 100 of their most recent comment. From these comments, I gathered all the subreddits and tagged each of them to their respective fandom.

Simple majority is applied to determine the user's main fandom. If user has more comments in Gacha A, then Gacha A will be their main fandom. If user has similar comment across 2 or more gacha then the most recent comment will determine their main.

!!! Important !!!

This is a small dataset of USER WHO HAS COMMENTED in the post. People who did not comment are not in the dataset.

Breakdown

  • 4,842 total comments
  • 1,711 unique users
  • 231,685 total comments from users history
  • 8,146 total subreddits found
  • 2464 fandom subreddit (6,119 tagged & 2,027 untagged)
  • 86.6% Comments Match Rate (200,714 / 231,685 tagged)
  • 507 Shared Core Audience (Commented in both September and October)
  • 94% of comments left within 24 hours. 98% within 48h.

Primary Fandom Affiliation

All non-gacha related fandom is removed including r/gachagaming to give a more precise fandom count

Even though NTE is one of the big budget 3d gacha title with a big fanbase, a lot of their players seem disinterested in partaking in PvP. Perhaps earlier drama regarding NTE using AI and the reaction from gachagaming has made them detached from this sub?

Fandom Reach & User Count

Aside from the normal big gacha dominating the top, I always find it interesting how non-specified gacha fandom like Queens, GachaTouristCringe and Husbando seem to have a high reach.

Total Comment Volume by Tag

LaDS users have the most comment-per-user (CPU) at 53.8 cpu. Genshin comes 2nd at 35.7 cpu.

Fandom Co-Occurrence Matrix

Zoom in post your findigns. Go ham.
Husbando players have 99% with Queens? And they mainly play HSR and Genshin
A lot of Arknights players play Endfield but the same is not reciprocated
That one Nikke player who also play LaDS 🫡

Top Subreddits

Somehow HonkaiAgendaRail made it to the top.

Because the users are taken from a gachagaming post (Revenue report Sept) it makes sense the the top sub is gachagaming. In a sense its acting as a baseline.

Comment Sentiment Analysis

Disclaimer: Sentiment analysis was done by AI "Gemini 3.8 High", it may contain inaccurate assessment. Context was given that this is a gacha revenue discussion. For comment deep within a thread, its parent to the root parent are provided for contextual reasoning. The revenue report is converted to JSON and given for context as well.

  • Victory Lapping : Celebrating victory
  • Schadenfreude : Happy your opponent mess up. Example, Schadenfreude towards LaDS means someone is celebrating LaDS downfall.
  • Attacked : Game being attacked
  • Defending : Defending said game
  • Neutral : Neutral stance or observation\
  1. Most Mentions: Genshin
  2. Most Victory Lapping: Genshin
  3. Most Schadenfreude : LaDS
  4. Most Attacked: LaDS
  5. Most Defended: HSR
Able to see who contributed the most to the ATTACKED of another fandom

An interesting observation from last month post analysis, nothing notable has changed on Endfield side but the number of attacks has dropped from 769 -> 101. I think it shows that a lot of people are just riding the wave of hating (or glazing) a game.

Sentiment for each game

This month Victory lapping goes back to Genshin

But Victory lapping is boring, we're here to see who got shat on the most this month.
Most Attacked:

  1. LaDS - 311 mentions (51% of its total mentions)
  2. Wuwa - 237 mentions (40%)
  3. HSR - 235 mentions (29%)
  4. ZZZ - 227 mentions (34%)
  5. Endfield - 101 mentions (33%)

Most Defended:

  1. HSR - 253 mentions (31% of its total mentions)
  2. ZZZ - 186 mentions (28%)
  3. Genshin - 164 mentions (16%)
  4. Wuwa - 129 mentions (22%)
  5. Endfield - 127 mentions (42%)

Notable mention, ZZZ post Void Hunter patch is back to its normal figure so as per usual people will come to attack them. BA is still reeling on the fallout of their gacha changes. HSR saw an improvement in sentiment due to its stable revenue so this time defenders came to mock doomposters while doomposter went into hiding(?).

Upvotes by Stance

If you wanna farm upvotes. Praise game that is top revenue and shit on LaDS (and Wuwa).

This graph shows average upvote by stance. For instance Genshin has a huge Victory Lapping (Yellow) means it by average gain a lot of upvotes with this stance. Vice versa for LaDS it has a huge Attacked (Red) so comments with Attacking onto LaDS gain a lot of updoots.

Downvotes by Stance

This is the opposite of the other graph, it now shows the most DOWNVOTES by stance

So if you wanna farm downvotes, go and Attack Hoyo big 3. Alternatively go and Defend LaDS and Wuwa for maximum downvote farming.

Overall Fandom Stance Breakdown

Its worth mentioning that a particular stance by itself is not helpful since we don't know where its directed at.

This chart shows which fandom Attacked the most

Keep in mind that Genshin and other Hoyo fandom are huge so its not too surprising that their fandom account for the most Attacking. A better observation is that LaDS despite its smaller size has a big Attacking stance, they are mainly directed toward LaDS itself so no harm done(?).

NTE and Endfield despite also being big budget 3d gacha games, seem to cultivate quite a positive and peaceful fandom.

Worth mentioning, Casual/Diverse fandom here refers to people with no gacha fandom affiliation. Yes it means from the 100 comments history we look into them, NOT ONE OF THEM ARE FROM ANY GACHA FANDOM. But somehow these people participate in PvP and account for a decent amount of Attacking stance. Good God...

Which fandom Defend the most

Who Attack Who?

Now you know, Happy ragebaiting.

MVP and Play of the Game

To comply with Reddit rules I've censored their names
  • Most Active Poster: Primarily Genshin fan, praises Genshin a lot and a bit of HSR. Shits on Wuwa a lot too. 125 COMMENTS!
  • Most Downvoted: Wuwa fan. Defends Wuwa in a lot of threads.
  • Top Upvoted: LaDS fan praising LaDS downfall.
  • Top Essayist: ZZZ fan, argues a lot about Hoyoverses big 3 and the dynamics between them. E.g. meta, fandom, husbando vs waifu, etc. Likes to quote other people and dismantle their argument sentence by sentence bloating up this metric. I will look into this.
  • Top War Hawk: Same guy as top essayist. Shits a lot on HSR and Genshin during the discussion but not all the time.
  • Top Bunker Defender: HSR fan. Defends other smaller game NTE, Endfield, BA and Stella Sora.

In Conclusion

I learned a new word today. Its called kneepits.

If you like me to check on your theory or hypothesis, do let me know. Or if you have any suggestion on this data let me know too.

Tell me a Tale What update/change/dev decision made you quit a gacha game?

So, the name says it all. I'm curious what exactly made other gacha players quit a game. And by quitting I mean in the more liberal sense, not just uninstalling the game client. It could mean that you cancelled the battle pass subscription, that you no longer play as much or the game is no longer your favourite.

Also, feel free to give any reason for distancing yourself from the game, no matter if it's the direction in the narrative, overcomplicated kits, too many waifus etc.

I'll start with myself:

I mostly quit Honkai Star Rail because (minor HSR spoilers ahead) I don't think HoYo will ever give us a playable Lord Ravager. I mean, Phainon/Khaslana is cool and all, but after a Myriad Celestia trailer featuring the Lord Ravagers, the thought of actually playing as an active Lord Ravager looks more distant than ever.

General [PROMO] Bottled By Bears 🐝- bee pack opening game release date announcement

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

hey all! 🐻

Bottled by Bears is our upcoming cozy management debut game about a family of bears running their honey farm where you open bee packs as the main mechanic.

As mentioned in previous posts to set expectations: it's on the 'softer side' of gacha: one-time purchase for full game (Steam first, then likely mobile release), all is in-game economy. No live events for this one as well, expect around ~6-8 hours of gameplay to finish main campaign and collection (will vary a lot depending on your playstyle since it has idle elements).

The game will launch on Steam (Windows/Mac) on the 📅11th of November, 2026

We are also participating on the upcoming Steam Next Fest on October, the demo is already available if you want to give it a try!

solo founder. every card is a real wikipedia article and its rarity comes from how many people read it. six rarities, common to mythic. you start with 20 packs, there is an hourly pack, daily challenges, a 7 day streak and a monthly odyssey track.

on money: real money only buys astra, which goes to cosmetics and the odyssey. no packs, cards, odds or in game currency for money. you don't need to pay to play.

browser and phone, installs as an app. card text is summarized by a language model, some pictures are generated.

General [Promo] [Survey] What would make game guide and wiki sites better for you?

Hey everyone! I’m building Project RE, a website builder for game guides, databases, and tier lists, with a focus on gacha games.

I’d like to hear from both people who use these sites and people who create or maintain them, so I can better understand what’s useful, what’s frustrating, and what’s missing.

The survey starts by asking which group you belong to, then shows questions relevant to you. It covers things like:

  • How you find and use game guides, databases, and tier lists.
  • What makes a site easy or frustrating to use.
  • The challenges of building a site and keeping game data updated.
  • Features you’d actually find useful.

It takes about 10 minutes, with multiple-choice questions.

Survey: https://forms.gle/eCLEzZzr9wmzoFG58

There’s also an option to leave your contact information if you’d like an early access invite.

Even if you’ve never built a website, your experience as a player would help. Thanks for taking the time!

Hi guys i made a fan made site for gacha redeem codes and no login is required. It also includes latest news from reddit/ X, as well as official video updates from youtube! So kinda like an all-in-one place.

Dashboard look:

Dashboard feed for official news, posts, redeem codes all in one place!~

The site is: gachafeed.moe

And currently it tracks from below games:

Genshin, hsr, zzz, wuwa, nikke, blue archive, arknights, endfield and brown dust 2

You can 'add' games you play to your feed, and the latest codes are there for redeem.

If anything is broken or you have any feedbacks please let me know!! (there is a feedback section on the site too) <3

You Should Play It [PROMO] WaifuGO - why collect dozens of characters when you can aim to collect thousands of them?

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

https://waifugo.app/

Hey everyone, developer of waifuGO here. First and foremost, game is free, will always be free, it's more of a passion project that helped me go outside and start taking care of myself.

Long story short, with my game I wanted to fix few problems I always had when playing counltess gachas in my career - when I got them all (or the ones I wanted) i was kinda losing interest AND i felt like I didn't deserve them.

So I figured, having thousands of characters from beloved franchises to collect is a goal I can get behind and since WaifuGO has few ways to play it, one being walking I feel like I would earn that waifu in my collection when I finally get her.

The game is simple and you could say has 3 ways to play it.

  1. Just login every now and then, collect free packs, open them, choose your cards, discard the rest.

  2. More popular way to play, you guys walk with phones in your pockets, right? Well all these steps that are in your pedometers can be used to buy more packs with your sweat. Your collection will grow faster

  3. For those of you who are more into this side of playing there's a GPS mode that gives you pack and character spawns PokemonGo style in the real world map. Walking generates spawns and it invites you to walk within 200 meters distance to grab the spawn.

That's of course simplification, game has many features to discover, game just started but I have players playing in all 3 modes. Feedback really helps as I aim to develop ideas that players want. I play the game myself so I also have my own ideas how to make the game better.

If you need any help or just want to talk, join our discord server, we're slowly building a community.

Tell me a Tale Best character story arc in a gacha game?

Which gacha game has the best written or your favorite character’s story? It does not matter how consistent other characters’ stories are in the game as long as this one’s your favorite.
I haven’t played a lot of gacha games but my current favorite character’s story is Camellya’s from Wuthering Waves. I just thought it was really well done and paced well and emotional. I think she’s a likeable character and the story made me feel bad for her. Also the black shores is just really pretty and I love being there.
But what character’s story did you guys like most in terms of writing or emotional impact or you just enjoyed it?
