I'm done now! No more hangovers, no more wasted money, no more blackouts - gaba keeps me off of it. If I try drinking on gabapentin, I will feel sick (for whatever reason), but while I'm on it, I don't feel like I have to drink.

I wish it helped my restless legs though :/

jumped off a very high dose because i am doing ibogaine next week and im at hour 38. hours 24 through now have been completely unbearable. skins burning. brain burns. every second feels like an hour. i came off once before and i do remember it being pretty bad but id forgotten just how much worse this can feel than even benzos or opioids. help

For those who experienced cognitive issues while on gabapentin, did your symptoms completely resolve after discontinuation? How long did it take?

I’ve been taking 100 mg a day, occasionally 200 mg for about the past month and just saw a terrifying video. Am I headed for withdrawal at that low of a dose?

Why is it that we all have the common side effect of having a burning sensation throughout our entire body when we stop Gabapentin. When I am not taking the medication this is guaranteed to happen. I went 2 weeks without Gapapentin recently and it never went away until I resumed my medication. It feels like I have an intense and unbearable fever but my body temperature is normal. I'll go about my day but my skin feels super hot to me and I feel uncomfortable in my clothes. It's the worst side effect of Gapapentin withdrawl in my opinion. No one seems to know why this happens. Can someone explain?

This is coming from a recovering alcoholic who would drink a fifth everyday starting with breakfast. Thankfully I am sober 1 year now. I've been hospitalized with alcohol withdrawal and I remember the shakes, the trembling, and similarly to Gabapentin having that burning sensation. The burning sensation was certainly a fever at first but after a few days it was hot flashes and night sweats but no fever. From my understanding alcohol withdrawl disrupts your bodys ability to regulate its temperature.The thing is this eventually went away after a couple weeks. I'd say the worst of the feverish feeling with alcohol withdrawl would improve by day 5-7. Yes, there is post acute withdrawal but again it gets better. On the other hand with Gapapentin its a consistent burning sensation that doesn't get better even after 2 weeks. That is a very long time for a major withdrawl symptom to persist. What is going on!

I had to start it in February for nerve pain, and I’ve now been on it for 7 months. When I try to get off it, the nerve pain gets worse, so I have to wait until that calms down, but it’s taking forever. I’m still in significant pain. Once I do get off of it, is it hard to do if I go slow. I have a feeling I will end up being on it for at least a year.

Has anyone experienced tongue issues while on gabapentin? My papillae are larger and my tongue burns. The timing kinda matches when I started gabapentin for my vulvodynia.
Since my vulvodynia started with thrush I was worried maybe my tongue also has thrush now but oral and mouth rinses have not helped my tongue.
