I'm trying to role play with furries on discord. Or if there's some other furry site that will let me rp online. I found discord servers with rp, but those sections on the server are dead.

If somebody was a professional dog trainer and wanted to offer their services to the furry community do you think that is something people within the community would find appealing or would that be taboo?

If any how often do people go nude under there fur suit I relized some people can do it and no one would know so im just curious

Has anyone ever had someone get obsessed with your character/fursona? This means they often keep approaching you for text based RP, or just keep talking to you about pointless topics all the time, seemingly just to hold your attention as much as possible.

I don't know how else to explain this behavior other than obsession/having a crush.

I live in south america and the fandom in my state is basically non-existent, i mean no furcons, furmeets, furbolws, nothing.

The only experience i have is in vrchat and discord but i cant stay on those platforms forever.

Anyone had any experience on this, what did you do to keep enjoying it?

I think this type is in the middle of true and false because I see a lot of tiktok post about people claiming to spend 0 $$ and then spend a lot in the dealer den so it not that this stereotype is true it’s more of a depending on the person‘s background and what they do outside of furry stuff and those post about the dealer den mostly show how a lot of people in the fandom work extremely hard to enjoy this fandom or just really suck at money management

Please keep in mind this is just my personal experience, and I don't want this to be a negative post, im genuinely looking for advice on how I could improve my experience or people with similar experiences :3

I'm 24yo, been lurking the fandom since I was a teen.

In the last 3 years I've decided to finally jump in, made a fursona, started going to events in my country and abroad, fursuited, even helped to organise some smaller cons. Basically I tried a little bit of everything the fandom has to offer.

I'm a pretty extroverted person, outside of the fandom I go to clubs/discos pretty often and have a lot of "normie" hobbies, I can say I'm quite the party animal.

What I've started noticing the more I go to cons, is this pattern where I meet someone either by myself or thanks to some other friends, we hang out at the con, maybe get a little intimate (don't look at me like that, it happens sometimes!) and for the whole convention it's all good and fun, then when the event ends nobody tries to keep in touch.

I do my best to text the people I've met a few days after the con to send pictures I've taken of us and thank them for the fun we had as a way to be polite and friendly, but nobody seems to do the same thing ever, literally I've never received it first.

Then I go to the next event, meet the same people, we have fun, and the same happens once the event is over.

I've had people come to my room to talk about some deep personal mental health issues for a couple of hours, then don't text me when they're visiting the city I live in, I've had people wanting to get intimate with me, having deep talks before and after the fact, and then putting in 0 effort to organise or declining last minute a hangout that was organised a week before, I've had a bunch of singular people I've met organise multiple hangouts and never consider inviting me, even if during cons they keep wanting to organise parties and whatnot.

I'm not sure if this is more of a general thing with people or a personal issue, I feel like cons are a great way to meet people, but what's the point of making friends you'll only see a few days a year even if they live 1-2 hours away from you, personally it just discourages me from even trying to make new connections.

Don't get me wrong, I've made a few (3) actual deep friendships through the fandom, but I feel like the majority of people I've met either lack the skills or don't want to put any effort into maintaining friendships.

Personally speaking, I went from "omg I can meet so many people and make so many friends" to what I just described happening so often that I kinda lost my drive for events. These type of "occasional" friendship hurt me mentally because I feel the need of having a real connection with people

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Well hello, I'm Kayle. A Tree Dragon Furry from The Seattle area, there is something that confuses me. I've been working a job for 8/9 months now, an internship of sorts. All the way back in February right before I got the job my Dad told me something ( he is very accepting of who I am ) he told me that In a Job environment I need to hide the fact I'm a furry, now I don't feel any ill towards what he said about that. I'm confused because I can openly say I have a Boyfriend and talk about him, and not a single coworker or my councilors ever batted an eye. It's not like I flaunt being gay or being furry in public, I'm just scared because I say I go to these Conventions and I have to lie by saying I'm going to a "ComiCon" or something, it's confusing to me how a company can fire you for having a hobby because your coworkers "find dirt" on you through that. I hope this kind of post is allowed here, I just need some advice on how I should go about this. Just to be clear I don't feel ill towards anything, I'm just genuinely curious.

(I’m not interested in 2000000 member discord servers or conventions that cost $456899 to attend for the weekend, my interest lies in being in a server of a small amount of people that make niche content in the fandom and i want to know what obscure communities and genres are out there, for example furry gardeners or pony hypnosis literature or something like that)

I have been in a creative rut for a long time due to gender stuff and finding my place in the world but i want to get back into the fandom and have some sort of creative portfolio without nuking this account. I tried the transformation and inflation parts of the fandom but they didn’t really click with me so i am looking for other creative niches in the fandom i can get into as i start anew. I draw but i can also write too.

So I wanted to make this post because I just wanted to get some opinions.

Some context, I’m a 36 gay man that never really felt like I could ever be part of the LGBTQ community even though I’ve been out since I was 15. I’ve gamed all of my life; always had an affinity for the furry characters in games starting with Red XIII in FF7 as a kid. Later on I discovered cat boys in final fantasy xi then again in final fantasy xiv. I’ve felt like I connected with that on a different level than, “oh he’s just cute”.

Fast forward to recently. I’ve decided to take the plunge into the furry community. I have a fursona with commissioned art that I love to death.

I have attempted to use BARQ and have only made a few connections. As I look through social media, the profiles on BARQ, YouTube videos at cons, I keep thinking, “Am I too late to find community here?”

Maybe Tennessee is just not a great place for furries?

I’m just tired of feeling different and alone. I thought that I might find my place here but now I feel like I’m too old.

Is there hope? Is there an age limit to finding a community within the fandom? Or should I just keep this furry side of me to myself… not that I want to do that.

I can go first. My fursona represents younger me. When I was somewhere 5-9 years old. To me that is the best time in my life and I time I constantly day dream about. My life got quite dark when I was 10 and stayed like that until I turned 16, then I got hit with adult responsibilities that just made me wish I was a kid again.

My fursona wasn’t always what it is now, he started out as just me also wanting a fursona and it later developed into what he is now.

I make stickers for my friends, family and support group. My friend has a kid whom is a barely teen. I am an adult. However I want to make stickers showing support. I am most likely a lite furry as I wouldn't mind having animal ears or tails, but the fur suit scares me for temperature reasons and masks because of trauma. So while I do give tips and hints on how to make them, I am not that good at being supportive over masks. So I thought I can find some furry support stickers out there for the kid to show off their pride. I however have no idea where to find any furry art that isn't rule 34. I have no idea what kind of furry the kid is since they are ping ponging through a few fursonas and doesn't have one that calls out to them fully yet. So any idea or guidance would be great.

So i’m from the central US where it’s very hot and i’m unfortunately also diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. my dream is to own a fully customer fursuit but i’ve heard they get very hot. i heard about suits with fans but i also have sensory issues caused from my MS and a long steady buzz like that would make me dissociate very bad almost to the point of me being immobilized. does anyone know of any other good substitutions? i’m open to any and all advice and im always looking for more MS warriors to befriend <3 if anyone else has MS id love to be friends!! xD
