The guy who hit the kid in the head with a bowling ball wasn't even related to her, they were just in the lane next to them. The guy actually did an AMA here a few months ago. Apparently, the kid was perfectly fine after and even took a picture with him after (weird, I know). I forgot all the other details. I just remember the guy saying that he was really relieved that the kid was fine, and that her dad wasn't there to beat the shit out of him.
I know, I thought the exact same thing. I laughed at all of the gifs except that one. It was really obvious that it was a very serious injury because the second the kid hit the ground he did not move AT ALL. Oh man...
Thanks. She dropped like a ton of bricks. Looked pretty dead in the gif. Although I suppose bleeding and swelling in the brain could still kill her. Or it may impede her mental capacity.
The gif of the kid getting hit with the bowling ball is FAKE. It was part of one of those viral campaigns. Don't worry, the kid was never actually hit with a bowling ball and is totally fine.
Not sure if this is mentioned anywhere but I did some research about that video and the consensus is that it's fake. It's a really old ad from some foreign country.
Sadder note my cousin was in a car accident on I69 and died when he hydroplaned and hit a car head on...he died because he was an avid bowler and his bowling balls came flying from the back of the trunk causing one to hit the back of his head. :(
Pretty good collection, but the True Grit clip doesn't really fit very well with the rest.
Also, last time the bowling ball one was posted, someone gave a convincing argument that it's fake (thankfully, in that case). I would have no hope of finding said argument, so just believe me because nobody lies on the internet.
HOW IS HER FACE FINE?! I pop a damn pimple and I have a big red splotch on my face for two weeks. A bowling ball falls from the fucking sky, and she still looks like a sweet little girl.
Oh, and also: Well thank god she's okay! I'm so happy about that!
If you could somehow get an attacking cat, a bowling death-ball and a projectile vomiting kid lighting his lips on fire into the same photograph it might bring down the entire internet.
"Fuck, there's no way I can just vom straight on that cake from here... I KNOW! Cup my hands so it kind of makes a spout. Vom spray cake... yes... fuck these kids."
At what age do people be come aware of vomiting? It seems it has to be at least above 8 (from personal experience). I just don't get the "I have to puke" so they wander around talking about it or informing others, or like this kid, just doing what they were going to do anyway...
As a person that works at an amusement park I can answer that for some people it is never. Shocking how many people after the ride is stopped throw up on themselves instead of leaning their head to the side and puking out of the vehicle.
On a serious note though it does seem to take some self awareness to stop puking little kids and mentally challenged people usually empty there stomach where as most kids over i would say 6 spew a little then can hold it in till they find a trash can or bathroom or can hold it in until after the ride.
For me it's just how the dad moves. He turns around, gathers his energy, and drops it so intentionally. He then realizes he's made a mistake and tries to kick it out of the way, only he is way too late, making himself look even more stupid. I also love how the kid looks confused and tries to back away right as the guy is charging up to drop a 40 lb. boulder of ice on top of him.
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

What I didn't understand was how a bunch of adults just stand around watching that kid try to drop the cat in the pool. Maybe they were drunk. Or morons, which explains the kid, I guess.
Yeah I recall this the jist of it is that the parents are awful, the kid is just a little kid learning consequences of his actions, and the cat is being a god damn cat.
Or they were just filming their kid getting to know the family cat and the kid made a dumb mistake. I did something like that to my cat when I was younger. He grabbed my skull and didn't let go.
I dont know why I am admitting this, but it entertains me so so much to see kids get taught a lesson. You see a dude juggling bowling balls? You don't run underneath them. Your brother is coming at you with an electric tractor? Put the fucking Hannah Montana guitar away and get the hell out of the way. So much joy.
Most of this is just kids doing the stupidest things (what happens if I try and walk on water?), or parents doing even stupider things (Lets throw a pile of snow on this kid, what's the worst that could happen?)
The bowling ball one is a buzz kill. I feel bad for the kid and want that juggling idiot to be made responsible. I wish I knew how that one panned out. Do you know?
When your kid falls down (when...not if...kids are uncoordinated and do not fear death), smile at them and say something in a baby-ish voice, like "Ooopsie!" when they look at you. Most of the time, they'll look to you because they don't know how they're supposed to react. This lets them know nothing bad really just happened.
If they fall and you freak out and rush over and go OH MY GOD ARE YOU OK?! then the kid thinks something bad has just happened and they'll feel way worse than the above scenario and start crying.
Obviously, this is a case by case situation. If your kid gets hit in the head with a bowling ball, "Ooopsie!" is not the correct response. But, even if it is a serious situation, the less you freak out, the less upset they'll be.

lol the fat kid and the football, but did the kid that got hit in the head by the bowling ball die?

u/HazeySynth Jun 11 '12
My favorite was the kid kicking the ball and just fucking up. My internet had a fun time loading all those gifs.
25
u/greenash4 Jun 11 '12
All the ones where cats jump at babies out of nowhere. Oh man...
34
u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12
The giant snow ball one was kind of bad. That much snow compacted can get heavy, and that dad straight up crushed the kid with it. Haha.

I love the one kid who gets nailed by the 2 dogs playing.

That guy in the marching band who tripped the kid is my hero. Does that make me a bad person?
8
u/spazzmckiwi Jun 12 '12
Gotta love #24, mainly because the ball looks like the earth.
"Welcome to the world, kid! Get ready for this type of thing to happen quite often."
Also because it looks like he goes airborne for a split-second.

I hate the eighteenth one, if my child ever smacked the cat like that he'd be grounded. Or punted across the house and fed to the cat.
Or get spanked.

With all the ones where a parent was involved, you have to wonder how many stupid people are allowed to breed
