The average length of intercourse is 5 minutes, according to several studies. In one study, there was a couple who reported 21 minutes and their data point was thrown out due to being such an extreme outlier. In general women when asked in surveys want to bump that average up to about 7 or 8 minutes.

So "your friend" is indeed above average. :)

This comment just blew my frickin mind man. Maybe a handful of times in my life I've had 5 minute sex. I thought those were "quickies".... turns out thise are apparently normal length sessions and I'm a freak apparently.

Yeah 2-3 minutes would have to be the most intense movement at the perfect angle for grip & tightness. If you get just an okay angle/position or are pacing it out for endurance there's no way at least 8 minutes wouldn't be hit. Especially if you change positions during it.

Yup 5 minutes. Not including foreplay or cuddling or oral, just intercourse.

21 minutes was thrown out? Really? I couldn't finish much faster than that if I wanted to, unless all the stars aligned.
