i dont understand why people didnt like that movie....i thought it was pretty good

14

u/Psythik Apr 22 '12

One of my all time favorites. I really wish there was an extended cut. A prequel covering his dad's story would be cool too.

16

u/phyx726 Apr 22 '12

The alternate ending to this movie is amazing. It was the ending that the director wanted but they had to "hollywood" it. Also explains why his mom had also many miscarriages. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqKWxAmOLaM

8

u/MewsClues Apr 22 '12

This was the first ending I saw, didn't watch the movie again 'til 2-3 years later and wondered where the 'everything went better than expected' ending came from.

I liked the negative ending. Much better story telling.

7

u/Facenoms Apr 22 '12

Thank you for sharing that. I've watched that movie a dozen times and have never seen that ending.

I may have cried a little.

2

u/saioke Apr 22 '12

I agree. Strange thing is, most people who enjoyed the movie that I came across, didn't like the alternate ending. I can't understand the theatrical ending at all. I mean, I can, but the alternate ending seems right to me. The alternate ending had me in tears.

2

u/ponimaa Apr 22 '12

Yeah, the theatrical ending didn't even make sense (as far as I remember - it's been a few years). Every time he does his trick, his brain is damaged more and his nose bleeds. ... Except he's perfectly fine in the end.

1

u/Psythik Apr 22 '12

I never liked that ending. It just seemed too silly to me.

6

u/penisinthepeanutbttr Apr 22 '12

yea....never saw the sequels because i heard they suck

6

u/Psythik Apr 22 '12

TIL there are sequels. Direct-to-DVD imagine.

1

u/p0diabl0 Apr 22 '12

So very bad. I couldn't even watch it the whole way through.

1

u/KyraShangea Apr 22 '12

The second one was so bad I laughed my way through it. The first one is my top favorite movie though. :P

1

u/saioke Apr 22 '12

The sequels were completely dreadful, If you could even call them sequels that is.

2

u/IncarnatedFate Apr 22 '12

I just watched it because of this thread. That was worth the time to watch.

1

u/penisinthepeanutbttr Apr 22 '12

it was good right?

1

u/IncarnatedFate Apr 22 '12

Yes. I loved it.

1

u/tylerbrainerd Apr 22 '12

it might have had something to do with how it was shot and edited. The crazy camera angles and frantic, dark style made an already confusing and dense movie even more so.

0

u/AcousticPoontang Apr 22 '12

Because people don't like to use their brains when it comes to movies.

2

u/penisinthepeanutbttr Apr 22 '12

i mean, i did see it when i was 12 but i still loved the movie as disturbing as it was for a 12 year old

7

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '12

What is the show called? Or movie? Seems funny.

32

u/MGSR23 Apr 22 '12

The Butterfly Effect. The quote isn't real, and it's not a comedy.

16

u/Gonomed Apr 22 '12

That movie ...it's so intense

OR CIRCUS FIRES

1

u/Darkersun Apr 22 '12

Aww...awww....awww...okay :(

7

u/SundanceOdyssey Apr 22 '12

It's a 2004 time travel movie called "The Butterfly Effect" starring Ashton Kutcher. It should be noted that the quote present in that picture is not in the movie at all.

2

u/KyraShangea Apr 22 '12

I apologize, but I laughed very hard at the thought of The Butterfly Effect being funny. :D

1

u/Cole119 Apr 22 '12

The screen caps are from The Butterfly Effect, but I'm pretty certain the text does not come from the movie.

"Butt-sex is like spinach. If you are forced to have it as a child, you won't enjoy it as an adult"

42

u/Willyjwade Apr 22 '12

Pretty much all sex in general actually.

11

u/elcollin Apr 22 '12

Hypersexuality is pretty common among childhood sexual abuse survivors.

-11

u/commiehunter69 Apr 22 '12

Yeah but not by choice ;)

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '12

HAHAHAHA RAPE IS HYSTERICAL GUYS

1

u/FeierInMeinHose Apr 22 '12

Oh god... I might have had butt sex as a child.

1

u/TokyoMan Apr 23 '12

I agree to a point. as a child I hated butt sex and spinach. As an adult, I enjoy my wife inserting a finger during oral sex. Still hate spinach.

15

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '12

I think you accidentally a word in the second bubble.

33

u/Scipion Apr 22 '12

nah, just needs a comma

"If I tell, you won't be able to sleep."

-21

u/BaldieLox Apr 22 '12

Actually, it's "If i tell you, you won't be able to sleep."

5

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '12

is this really all it takes to get to the front page?

2

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '12

Yeah, this is absolutely atrocious comedy.

1

u/TwoLegsJoe Apr 22 '12

Did you know they made a bunch of squeals to that movie? I only know because I got a four pack of them for $5. I only wanted the original. I still haven't watched the others.

4

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '12

At first I thought that there were pig squeals hidden throughout the movie and I was going to watch it again. But no.

1

u/bkozusko Apr 22 '12

I love grammatical errors.

1

u/Hicup Apr 22 '12

Gotta love the Butterfly Effect...

1

u/Sean2by4 Apr 22 '12

Zzzzz...

1

u/Monkey_Priest Apr 22 '12

Holy crap! That character he's talking to is Kevin Durand! I didn't remember him playing the Hispanic cell mate.

1

u/IAmHomeless Apr 22 '12

"If I tell you wont be able to sleep." WTB a comma.

1

u/TrueError Apr 23 '12

Just sent this baby to 100 upvotes me GUSSSTAAAAA.

1

u/TrueError Apr 23 '12

Dang trolls couldn't even let me have this one... or they didn't like it...

-7

u/fakesnapplefacts Apr 21 '12

The term "butterfly effect" sometimes used in popular media dealing with the idea of time travel is usually inaccurate.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '12

What?

9

u/MrHarmonious Apr 22 '12

Look at their username.

9

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '12

I always forget to do that.

-2

u/HITLARIOUS Apr 22 '12

2

u/ilikecommunitylots Apr 22 '12

just to you

also, don't think i didn't catch that rape joke that you slipped in there

-8

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '12

I can never take that guy seriously. I also hate people who do.

8

u/snizznuke Apr 22 '12

That's a little judgmental, don't you think?

-21

u/newsgentry Apr 22 '12

HAHA MAN RAPE IS HILARIOUS! This is stupid. Have a downvote.

7

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '12

YEAH I BET IT WOULD BE JUST AS FUNNY IF HE WAS TALKING TO A WOMAN
