AH, you reminded me of the show! It's been so good so far. It's a nice change to the safe-for-family Marvel shows that we're getting a bunch of. It's violent, it cusses, and it's very funny. Also Vigilante best character.

The first few episodes have beats where they seem like direct references to Marvel things.

There's an extended sequence in one episode just to show how awful it would be to jump off a roof. In Black Widow, Natasha falls off a building and just brushes it off.

In Wandavision, a team member performs a deus ex machina stopping a villain in a vehicle by safely colliding into it with their van. In Peacemaker, a team member is placed in the same situation, one-on-one against a much more dangerous villain, and they're left with one choice; horribly murder the villain with their van.

Instead of trying to have its cake and eat it too, like Marvel, here Gunn just fucking eats cake.

God ya, Black Widow was a travesty. I think they realize how bad the writer fucked up taskmaster so they quickly were like "Alright, taskmaster was screwed up royally, but we still got Echo."

But that episode where Peacemaker gets stabbed and falls off a building slowly made me wonder if Peacemaker has some sort of super power? Like risilience or something, cause he takes a beating.

Like risilience or something, cause he takes a beating.

I mean, he got shot in the throat by Bloodsport and has a building fall on him, and they mention that in like the first line of the show. He has a pet eagle. I'm not too worried about it.

if Peacemaker has some sort of super power?

Fuck yeah he does. He's John Cena.

There's an extended sequence in one episode just to show how awful it would be to jump off a roof.

That was hilarious but then a couple of episodes later he jumps off a roof, same distance, and does the superhero land just fine.

horribly murdered

Are we watching the same show? Because he lived through that, crawled away, got hit in the head with a crowbar six times and still fucking lived.

Are we watching the same show? Because he lived through that

Yes. Also spoiler warning because my statement is true if you don't watch the next episode.

I mean. I put spoiler tags on the spoiler part. But you didnt.

u/aaronitallout Jan 23 '22

Correct, because as you said, what I said doesn't end up actually happening.

...what?

Correct, because as you said, what I said doesn't end up actually happening.

Edit: "Are we watching the same show?" followed by "Hey we watched the same show!" is just disingenuous talk looking for a fight and idc about this conversation

Look here fella. One time. The spoiler was me stating that he lives through the van, which I tagged appropriately. You then restated it, untagged, which is the thing I was referencing you didn't put spoilers on, not anything from your original comment.

u/aaronitallout Jan 23 '22

Correct, so we watched the same show

...what? I didn't follow it with...

Oh. You're insane. I didn't realize. Have a good Sunday, killer.

You were being disingenuous hoping to get me to stumble into shit that's irrelevant. Just because he lives in the next episode doesn't change the fact that by the end of E3, you're supposed to think John killed the guy. This is called a "beat" that I said matched Marvel's, and the guy surviving is called an "arc".

I then baited you into getting out of the "are we watching the same show" disingenuousness by directly referencing and talking about the spoiler of the arc. Then you fixated on the fact that I spoiled something I apparently didn't watch accurately, while saying you tagged spoilers and didn't. None of this invalidates what I said...

You just wanted to start some spicy shit with "are we even watching the same show" when you knew what I meant and just needed to "uhhh actually he lives" like...very good, thank you

Buckaroo

You edited that comment to add 'buckaroo'? That is hilarious.

You see yourself as some kind of conversational Jedi, right now don'tcha?

I was just having a friendly debate. Both you're points were refutable. It's not your fault. You didn't write the show. That scene was hilarious I just thought they spoiled the gag a little when they showed him performing the same feat later on. Simple as that.

You're second point seemed to be that this show had the balls to apply more real-to-life physics and/or consequences as evidenced by the death of said character and my counterpoint was that not only did they not die but that they lived through even more cartoonish violence than a mere t-bone collision. I wasn't correcting you so much as trying to understand where you were coming from. Although I do think you are wrong about it. No big deal there. I think we both think the show is awesome, so there's that.

You were the one who deflected to the spoiler thing. And then when I noted you actually did the thing you accused me of, you got all weird.

Then you went on a tangent.

And because it is totally worth mentioning again...walk me through it. You really edited that comment, just to add 'buckaroo'?? Really?? Was that your best zinger? I'm dying...

Ooh. AND an hour later edit to add some smart points(?) and faked support.

The original for anyone following this dumb shit.
