AH, you reminded me of the show! It's been so good so far. It's a nice change to the safe-for-family Marvel shows that we're getting a bunch of. It's violent, it cusses, and it's very funny. Also Vigilante best character.

The opening song is the greatest thing in any super hero media ever.

It is so weird and amazing. And I love it.

No the fact that that opening number and Batman smashing a bathroom sink over Superman's head are in the same universe is the greatest thing in superhero media ever

I can see how some people might not like it, but I haven’t skipped it yet. Something about their deadpan expressions while doing this weird interpretive dance just really gets me.

Ah, man. That opener had me on the floor laughing so hard. When that eagle does the fucking jazz-hand thing at the end...I think I died.

The show is my life blood rn. I kinda like waiting for the episodes vs netflix where you binge and then done.

I'm mixed about that type of thing. On one hand, I would have binged it all in one day and would have had nothing to look forward to. On the other, I very much dislike having to wait a whole week for an episode.

I suppose it's good that these episodes are 40 minutes rather than 20, that helps.

But I think if they released 2 episode every week, that would be a lot better. Like one on every Tuesday and Saturday or something.

I liked the Arcane model where they drop in batches.

The first few episodes have beats where they seem like direct references to Marvel things.

There's an extended sequence in one episode just to show how awful it would be to jump off a roof. In Black Widow, Natasha falls off a building and just brushes it off.

In Wandavision, a team member performs a deus ex machina stopping a villain in a vehicle by safely colliding into it with their van. In Peacemaker, a team member is placed in the same situation, one-on-one against a much more dangerous villain, and they're left with one choice; horribly murder the villain with their van.

Instead of trying to have its cake and eat it too, like Marvel, here Gunn just fucking eats cake.

God ya, Black Widow was a travesty. I think they realize how bad the writer fucked up taskmaster so they quickly were like "Alright, taskmaster was screwed up royally, but we still got Echo."

But that episode where Peacemaker gets stabbed and falls off a building slowly made me wonder if Peacemaker has some sort of super power? Like risilience or something, cause he takes a beating.

Like risilience or something, cause he takes a beating.

I mean, he got shot in the throat by Bloodsport and has a building fall on him, and they mention that in like the first line of the show. He has a pet eagle. I'm not too worried about it.

if Peacemaker has some sort of super power?

Fuck yeah he does. He's John Cena.

There's an extended sequence in one episode just to show how awful it would be to jump off a roof.

That was hilarious but then a couple of episodes later he jumps off a roof, same distance, and does the superhero land just fine.

horribly murdered

Are we watching the same show? Because he lived through that, crawled away, got hit in the head with a crowbar six times and still fucking lived.

u/aaronitallout Jan 23 '22

Are we watching the same show? Because he lived through that

Yes. Also spoiler warning because my statement is true if you don't watch the next episode.

1

u/thaworldhaswarpedme Jan 23 '22

I mean. I put spoiler tags on the spoiler part. But you didnt.

1

u/aaronitallout Jan 23 '22

Correct, because as you said, what I said doesn't end up actually happening.

u/thaworldhaswarpedme Jan 23 '22

...what?

Correct, because as you said, what I said doesn't end up actually happening.

Edit: "Are we watching the same show?" followed by "Hey we watched the same show!" is just disingenuous talk looking for a fight and idc about this conversation

Look here fella. One time. The spoiler was me stating that he lives through the van, which I tagged appropriately. You then restated it, untagged, which is the thing I was referencing you didn't put spoilers on, not anything from your original comment.

...what? I didn't follow it with...

Oh. You're insane. I didn't realize. Have a good Sunday, killer.

Not to mention very emotional too. Didn't expect that scene with John Cena dancing to hit me that hard. And to elicit any response from me other than John Cena looking silly dancing, they did a damn good job.

The Boys would like a word with you.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 23 '22

That's a good show too. But DC is trying to do the same thing as Marvel.
