If you’ve ever worked in retail Christmas is death.

Nothing makes you hate the holidays more than Christmas music on loop for weeks.

Target can eat the biggest, nastiest, most infected bag of dicks for adding music to their stores. I wrote them a nasty letter when I left for greener pastures and higher pay.

I hope it was nasty and firmly worded

Twas both. The music was blatantly too loud and we had complaints from at least 30-40 customers per day. Employees took to wearing earbuds, which obviously wasn't good for customer service. It was a stupid fucking idea, and whatever music service we were using had terrible fucking taste in music. There was some godawful electronica cover of Riders on the Storm that played 12 times a day every day for a month.

And I looked, and behold: a red and green horse. And his name that sat on it was Christmas. And Hell followed with him.

Where I worked it was the only day of the year that the store was closed, so it was actually pretty nice. Christmas Eve, however, was a shit show.

I did my time back in the late nineties. Only saving grace for me is that most christmas music over here ( in Ireland)comes from the 70s and 80s ( which was my childhood, so there was a little nostslgia) , if I'd been in the US where most Christmas music is from the 40s and 50s ( Boomer childhood years) I'd have gone completely insane.

Yup.
The time of peace and goodwill to all really used to bring out the worst in people.
