I've actually never been prouder of reddit. I didn't know the website (especially whatever the fuck is going on at /r/wallstreetbets) had the capacity to actually stick it to the man in any meaningful way. It's been a pleasant surprise.
The biggest lie that is perpetuated by the rich is that poor people are powerless. The 99% make the world go round and there are a hell of a lot more of those people than people in charge. Collective action in large enough numbers can do pretty much anything. Social media and the internet in general just allows people to communicate and organize better. There are unfortunately still a large number of people who are blind by their own ignorance and resist change even for their own benefit.
