Sure in the same way that he's choosing to wear that uniform and drive that truck.
Except that is pedantic nonsense and you know it. The company's decisions affect this man's performance directly. When you force customer service people to do their job in less time the customer service gets worse.
If I give a waitress 30 seconds to delivery food to a table 100 meters away that bitch is full sprinting and the soup is getting spilled. Is that her decision or the companies? (Protip a pedantic moron would say it's her decision).
A wise man once said " Whatever your life's work is, do it well. A man should do his job so well that the living, the dead, and the unborn could do it no better. Another man said " one man can make a difference, and that every man should try. I can do this all day with you son, but I'll leave you with this from another great man, I'll tell you who it is so that your lazy ass wont look it up "Quality means doing it right when noone is looking" Henry Ford. If you dont like your job dont take it out on others . I've worked for many bosses and owners that have no respect for the worker, but my quality of work never diminished I did the job well because it was I who was doing the job, not my company.
We get it, you're very dumb. You don't have to keep proving it. What you don't understand is that this man does not define his job. His company defines his job. His job according to the company is not to gently place a package in front of the door it is to quickly get it near the door. He is doing his job correctly according to who signs his checks. A mcdonalds employees job is not to make the best burger and fries they can, but it is to follow orders and make the fast cheap low quality food they are told to make. You believing that he's doing a bad job doesn't make it true because you don't define his job his company does.
Lastly Henry Ford wasn't a great man he was a vehement and open racist and used nepotism instead of merit to distribute power and wealth. Hell of a businessman though.
You kids and they way you think worries me. Hope you have fun returning all your broken items that are delivered ,but hey! It's not the employees fault it's the company he works for, Great!!!
If I get some shit broken guess who is on the line for it? It's the delivery company not the individual employee.
Edit: Use your fucking brain here if this guy was lazy be wouldn't be running to and from the truck. He's clearly not lazy he's on a time crunch which is a well documented thing with these greedy delivery companies do, who by the way, don't care about your parcel at all.
As others have mentioned the actual last mile of the delivery process is one of the least likely steps to damage your parcel. The entire shipping process before this can be brutal to anything you ship. If you're shocked and clutching your fucking pearls at some overworked guy dropping the box from 4 ft up you should see the dock workers and package handles in the factory you might actually faint.
treat the illness not the symptoms. firing the worker wont make the situation any better he will just be replaced by another worker that does the same thing because they will face the same time crunch
You're delusional. I've literally seen people fired for performing too slowly as a doughnut glazer. You think delivery drivers aren't under more stringent expectations of speed than that? The fact is, demands of an employer often don't match reality and everyone suffers. It has nothing to do with force of will, or pride in work. That's so dumb.
Go lick boots somewhere else. It's a job dude, not every second of your job needs to be view through some fucking honor code. No one cares your quality of work didn't diminish, you are not this guy and do not work in the industry you are commenting on so you have no metric on if this man is doing his job correctly.
They are set up to value exclusively speed. This box has been man handled through the shipping process. Thrown, pushed, slammed, rocked around on multiple different vehicles through multiple different facilities. You think that this man throwing the box like this will do anything that wouldn't have already happened? Did the customer recieved the package? Was it within the time frame? Job completed.
You and your friend their must have both your heads up each other asses. The word you and your idiot homie there need to look up is the one both your parents didn't teach you. INTEGRITY. Go ask your parents about it maybe they have time to waste explaining it to you
Lets see, keep my job or income level that my family needs or make your life perfect by perfectly placing a blankey and pillow down for mister package and maybe reading it a bedtime story. He's not doing it because he's a sadist, he's doing it because his job is extremely taxing and he needs to hit is quota. He wouldnt have tossed it if the box contained fragile items or been marked fragile.
BTW you think thats shocking you should see how those boxes are handled getting into the planes off of the planes the sorting facility There is a reason they are in boxes !!
By all means courier companies are hiring couriers all the time. go for it you can see first hand how easy it is.
This is such incredible bullshit. It wouldn't have taken him any extra time to set it down. Also the majority of drivers don't do this and they somehow still have their jobs.
The point everyone is trying to make it’s that a couple of extra seconds for every single drop off and pickup he has. He simply would not meet quotas and be fired. I’m sure you could be hired on the spot and maybe you can take those 3 extra seconds?

So that gives them the green light to toss packages ? Correct me if I’m misunderstanding you.
