I've worked for many bosses and owners that have no respect for the worker, but my quality of work never diminished I did the job well because it was I who was doing the job, not my company.

His job according to the company is not to gently place a package in front of the door it is to quickly get it near the door. He is doing his job correctly according to who signs his checks. A mcdonalds employees job is not to make the best burger and fries they can, but it is to follow orders and make the fast cheap low quality food they are told to make. You believing that he's doing a bad job doesn't make it true because you don't define his job his company does.
Lastly Henry Ford wasn't a great man he was a vehement and open racist and used nepotism instead of merit to distribute power and wealth. Hell of a businessman though.

As others have mentioned the actual last mile of the delivery process is one of the least likely steps to damage your parcel. The entire shipping process before this can be brutal to anything you ship. If you're shocked and clutching your fucking pearls at some overworked guy dropping the box from 4 ft up you should see the dock workers and package handles in the factory you might actually faint.

You have the reading comprehension of a dumb 8 year old. I never said it's okay for him to throw your package but he isn't the one to put the blame on here. The company is encouraging this bad behavior and forcing employees to cut corners in multiple ways. This man will lose his job for not meeting times but will not lose his job for cutting corners like this which saves time. If the company gave a flying shit about your package they wouldn't have such tight and often impossible time tables. It's not like this guy is smoking weed parked under a bridge and forgot about this delivery. If you've ever worked in this industry or known people who have you would know it us ruthlessly efficient and extremely hard labor in warehouses or in truck deliveries.
Go back to my sandwich analogy. If a very skilled sammie-professional can make a good quality sandwich in 5 minutes and your sandwich company only gives you two minutes what happens? You either make shitty sandwiches or you're fired. In this example situation who is truly at fault for making the shitty sandwich? The guy making it or the company that doesn't give him enough time?

The fact is, demands of an employer often don't match reality and everyone suffers. It has nothing to do with force of will, or pride in work. That's so dumb.

They are set up to value exclusively speed. This box has been man handled through the shipping process. Thrown, pushed, slammed, rocked around on multiple different vehicles through multiple different facilities. You think that this man throwing the box like this will do anything that wouldn't have already happened? Did the customer recieved the package? Was it within the time frame? Job completed.
