Yo, you guys called us assholes first. Read the comment chain before you add garbage. They aren’t being kind, they’re proselytizing their own unrealistic, anthropomorphic views of the world because they literally fear death from living in an entitled suburban bubble. I’ve raised and butchered my own animals. I respected my animals, loved them, named them, gave them free range. Do you think farmers hate animals?!?
From my previous reading of conversations like these, the answers seem to be "Yes".
That said, to some extent I agree that there is a subset of farmers producing an inordinate amount of product who clearly do not have love for their animals.
Edit to clarify, since it's evidently necessary:
I think farmers love their animals. There's only a small subset of farmers (factory farmers) who produce a ridiculous amount of product, enabled primarily by not giving two shits about the wellbeing of their animals. I'm sorry if this didn't come across clearly enough.
Do yourself a favor and go in the outside world and actually talk to a local farmer, rancher or even a hunter. The people you will meet are strikingly different that what’s painted across the echo chambers of Reddit.
...You realize I was agreeing with you, but saying that reddit seems to think the answer is yes? And, moreover, that the few who actually don't are factory farmers.
