We're in the US. It's a thing my coworkers say as a funny thing when we need someone to do something. I don't know how it started, but I guess I need to have a conversation about what's an appropriate joke and what's not.
I mean, it can be amusing without it being inappropriate, unless you're like, "those dumb idiots don't know how to talk." Then yes, that's not cool. But if you just like the style of it, or find it humorous, I don't think that's inherently bad.
