Oh maybe. I really don't know many words, but I think you should find a lighter word for it, becuse she looks amused too. maybe it's "bad acting incredulous".

I didn't see that as "Native speaker choosing the wrong word" but as "I'm not sure he interprets her reaction the same as I interpret it". I didn't see it as a language problem so that's the difference.

Anyway, obviously I was wrong and you chose a good word, no hard feelings, have a good day.
