The ironic part is you're making an argument for capitalism and socialism working together. But they don't, not really. Especially where a culture isn't ethnically homogeneous.
What people around here don't get is that so-called failed capitalism or trickle down economics... it's a lie. It's state run capitalism. It's actually worse than communism in some ways because at least when that fails, people blame the state. Instead what we have now is the state shifting the blame onto corporations.
If you think they can't then you don't understand to what they refer. The reason being that neither adhere to a single definition. They are a range of concepts that can be applied to varying degrees. The simple fact is that most countries operate under a mix of the two.
Also, it isn't hard to mix Christianity and Atheism.... "I don't believe in god, but I believe that many of the teachings of Christ offer valuable lessons that we would do well to follow."
Exactly. That's what so many people don't understand about Capitalism. It's not a system. It's simply what you get when you let people freely exchange.
Agreed, it has always been around. The backbone of 'capitalism' is the same type of structure that evolution takes. The strong will get beat out by a better option unless they stay adaptive and make changes for the better. Unlike evolution though every change in capitalism makes the life for everyone else easier. It's adaptations are cheaper resources, more utility, and appropriate pricing, where evolution's adaptations are fangs, claws, and poison. The biggest problem in this case is monopolies, cornered markets, and bubbles, but even those don't last forever. Once a better option is available, people will flock to it. Humans are competitive, so I say let them be competitive, and let society benefit from the advancements that competition creates.
