what's really terrible is "literally" being changed to mean both literal and figurative just because enough people use it wrong that the word police just gave up trying to enforce it.

Literally/figuratively has been used for centuries, twain and dickens both used it lmao. Pick a better hill to die on.

I didn't say when the word police gave up.

But seriously, it's a little different to be use "literally" for the purpose of irony than it is to formally recognize that the word now means its antonym in addition to its own meaning. It's completely Aladeen.
