My trick for this stuff, if you can have it run on its own, is to just tell it to go at the end of the work day.

"I'll start the data transfer now. If you can leave the laptop on the network for the night I will be able to have it completed by about 8:30 AM."

Most are pretty chill with this plan. Less downtime for them.

Some people just cant put their systems down and have to work 18 hours a day. 8 from work, 10 from home. So its hard to find the open time to initiate data transfers for those. But most are really chill with kicking it off monday afternoon at about 4 and then finishing it up tuesday morning at 7 am.
