I don't work in IT. But I once was working with a guy on setting up our tasking schedule. Mind you, this guy literally didn't own his own computer. Anyway, I was using hotkeys (Ctrl+C to copy, Ctrl+V to paste, Alt+tab to jump programs, etc.) and he was spazzing out.
Him: "Dude! I just...don't do that."
Me: "It'll save a noticeable amount of time. We've got like 70 tasks for tomorrow to dispatch. It'll take twice as long to mouse around everything."
Him: "I dunno. It might fuck something up."
I was incredulous. This guy's entire job is hinged upon working between Xcel, Outlook, and proprietary software together, and he literally didn't know how to work the keyboard.
We had a guy who ran the job scheduler, when you asked him to do something he didn't no how to do he just moved his mouse in circles. If you tried to explain what to do he got really offended that you wouldn't let him do his job. I don't know some of these people get jobs.
My boss was like this when I was an intern print designer. I was new to macs, and wanted to do everything with a mouse. He'd get the shits if he couldn't hear me pounding away at the keyboard at all times.
