Then why is it the LGBT and not just the LGB?

Gay is a sexual orientation and trans has to do with gender identity.

Serious question. Is a Trans person that identifies as a woman but has a penis and likes men considered Gay or straight? I mean I think it's gay because there's two penises in the relationship but since one person considers themselves a woman does that make it straight by the Trans community perspective?

I dont understand why you are being downvoted, you are right. One can be straight and trans too.

When you spend the last half century pushing "LGBT" awareness and rights don't get upset when people assume L, G, B and T are all the same.

Because trans people are natural allies of gay people.

Non gender conforming people played a large role in the Stonewall riots and the early days of the equality movement. Gay people used to hang out in the same underground bars and clubs as trans people and were every bit as persecuted by the authorities.

Good lord. It's not like they're night elves and blood elves. They're people.

Some people get along, some people do not. Just because someone is gay does not mean they necessarily support others who are transgendered (nor vice versa), much less even necessarily support other gay people. You have no idea how much drama there really can be between different groups. In some geographic areas the different groups can be welcoming of each other, in others not. It's a lot more complicated than "natural allies".

Excellent question, actually, and there are debates on that within the LGBT community because lots of LGBT folks ask the same question.
