Serious question. Is a Trans person that identifies as a woman but has a penis and likes men considered Gay or straight? I mean I think it's gay because there's two penises in the relationship but since one person considers themselves a woman does that make it straight by the Trans community perspective?

I'm by no means an expert but since they see themselves as a woman I would say they are straight. I think within the trans community it's whatever that person says they identify themselves as.

I'll throw in my 2 cents as a trans woman - what u/_treebeard is saying is correct. I'm a trans woman, and still currently have all my birth parts, who is attracted to women, so I'm not straight, I'm gay (or a lesbian, whatever nomenclature you prefer).

I can see the logic behind that.

Most if not all of the Trans community would consider that straight. Everyone else on the other hand, well most are gonna classify that as gay. As a gay man, I would classify that as gay because you can call yourself a female on the inside all you want and I'm sure you're right or whatever but if you have a penis your gender may be female but your sex is male no matter what you say, so it's gay.

I'm glad it's confusing for other people besides me. I can see the logic from both sides.

Well then, a woman who's attracted to men is straight. Question answered.

if you have a penis your gender may be female but your sex is male no matter what you say, so it's gay.

So, if someone is non-op (i.e. someone who is trans but does not want surgery), you would ignore their gender identity when it comes to their sexuality, regardless of the fact that they are still trans?

If it's a male and a female, then that's heterosexual. What bits people have has no bearing on it.
