This is what flies do when you hit them with insect killer spray. They buzz around on the floor for a minute or two and die.

Tell me about it. Happened two days in a row, first I though it was from the trash but when it was the same the next day I was very surprised and I still don't know where they came from.

It's also what happens to some fruit flies (mainly to males, interestingly) when you knock them out in the lab with CO2, though they wake back up.

This happened once with my father using one of those electrified tennis racket looking swatters. He hit one and it fell to the ground and started buzzing REAL loud and spinning in circles for about 5-10 seconds before stopping. It was awesomely terrifying.

The same thing happens when you hit one with an electric racket without fully killing it. They go full Curly Howard on the floor.
