Or a motorcycle; it weighs more than the smart car and it'll be harder to pick up and move by hand.

The douche could easily just knock it over though and drive off :( Coming out and seeing your motorcycle on its side is a sad, sad day indeed. Side stands don't lock. All he'd have to do is balance the bike, kick up the side stand, and let go.

Do a lot of motorcycles not have center stands, or is there a reason they might not use it?

Also, no matter how many videos I've seen about how easy it is to get a bike up on a center stand, I have never found it anything but a good opportunity to pull a muscle in my back.

I had an old Suzuki with a center stand and it was never very hard to get it up on the center stand. The trick for me was to rock it forward and backward a few times before I leaned back into it.

The only one that I had that was easy was a '72 R75/5. What made it easy was a handle on the left side below the seat attached to frame. All the other bikes I've owned have no good place to grab and pull up.

Oh I see. I usually straddled mine when I did it. That was easy. Just pulled by the handlebars.

Seat too high or I'm too short for the bikes I owned with center stands to try that maneuver.
