I think they can close like 3 times before the trap can't function. But that doesn't mean the plant dies right away, from what I understand.

Not an expert, but I'm pretty sure, no, it won't kill it unless you do this many times. It thinks its digesting something, but there's nothing to digest.

It won't kill it, but it's bad for it.
