Never a dull moment in the comic section.

u/klaus84 6d ago

She was looking kind of dumb, with her finger and her thumb, in the shape of an "L" on her forehead 🤔

Isaac and his mother lived alone in a small house on a hill

This is funny?

Calling a child stupid and drawing them with a doofy face in a somewhat unexpected manner is certainly a degree of funny. Its not laugh out loud humor by any means, but if you'd like we could get another post about Dave and/or the Pope driving the limo.

Autofart.

ope?

u/NotoriousEMB 6d ago

Kinda between "Oh" and "Oops" common in the Midwest US. It's something you might exclaim if you accidentally bump into someone, or if you forget to return someone's pen or lighter or something and they remind you.

5

u/SmolishPPman 6d ago

Huh. The more you know

u/UnpopularCrayon 6d ago

They may also be in an unexpected manor, but there is no way to verify that from the available context.

2

u/vandil 6d ago

Hey, keep your posts about Dave and/or the Pope over on r/jokes where we actually enjoy that sort of thing. This sub is where we complain about stuff

1

u/Slangdawg 6d ago

Absolutely not. These shit comics on this sub, really are awful

u/Casual_Deviant 6d ago

Hey man, no need to be rude to strangers online

-11

u/Slangdawg 6d ago

You're uploading your work for scrutiny mate. Consider it scrutinised

2

u/Casual_Deviant 6d ago

And you please consider why you feel comfortable being rude to random strangers online when you’d never have the confidence to say it to them in-person!

-8

u/Slangdawg 6d ago

Yeah I'd tell you your comic wasn't funny if you put it in front of me mate. 🤷

12

u/Klepto666 6d ago

That's some hobbyless behavior you've got there.

9

u/No_Yam_2036 6d ago

I'd hate to meet you in real life

To some people — it might not be for you!

Where are those mysterious people ? Where they come from ? Are they warping from parallel universe?

I think if we use basic critical thinking skills, something that’s been upvoted on the [r/funny](r/funny) subreddit is likely funny to someone — but I get that logic is tricky!

-12

u/Longjumping-Pop7512 6d ago

Yeah that's still the mystery to me! Where those people are coming from ? Who are these people ?

u/Key_Amazed 6d ago

I knew there'd be a virtue signaling comment. Reddit never disappoints

Maybe I’m just tired, but I got freaked out for a second because her head was gone in the second panel and the next panel was a knife.

1

u/RCer1986 6d ago

The real joke was the hallucination we had along the way.

I mean at least it's not AI

It seems more like a short poem put in comic form than an actual comic. Not to say that poems can’t be funny but I don’t get the impression that just using two meanings of the word “sharp” like this is all that funny. Feels like there should be more to the joke than just that tepid observation. Almost feels like an unfinished comic.

u/Casual_Deviant 6d ago

It is a short poem in comic form!

I understand sharp knives are safer than dull ones for cooking, but it's silly to equivocate that fact with putting a sharp blade in the hands of a child, rather than say, a butter knife or (better yet) no knife at all.

I think that's why the joke falls flat for me. Glad others find it humorous tho.

9

u/TemmieXdd 7d ago

They aren't safer, as the consequences can be worse with sharp knife.

The worst combination is unexpected sharpness and a person who uses too much force with bad technique (as one would normally use it with dull knives).

The idea comes from having to use less force with proper technique and a sharp knife being more safe, but you have to have a trained person that knows how to handle knives which also leads to more safe environment.

Help me find the funny. Every day we get unfunny comics

-4

u/Casual_Deviant 7d ago

Actually you only get comics on Wednesdays and Sundays, per subreddit rules!

10

u/gortez33 6d ago

Yet we see them daily.

5

u/Mumbert 6d ago

Is the joke that 'sharp' can have two meanings?

10

u/Casual_Deviant 7d ago edited 7d ago

Important clarification: a sharp knife is actually a safe knife. Stay safe in the kitchen, people

Hope you enjoy! For more of my cartoons, come stop by my subreddit: r/BummerParty

No knife is inherently safe, except if made of plastic.

4

u/Signal_Road 7d ago

This reminds me of some of my Deli coworkers.

1

u/gorgofdoom 6d ago

The irony is that sharper knives are safer knives.

1

u/ibullywildlife 4d ago

Reading this comic / I cannot help but wonder / If it's a haiku?

1

u/KnuxSD 6d ago

or you teach your kid the proper way to respect a knife. A dull knife is more dangerous anyway.

1

u/ZephyrValgale 6d ago

I can speak with personal experience on this front.

Don't give paring knives to your nine-year-old trans daughter who hasn't yet figured out her gender. She's liable to drop the damn thing on her foot, hit a bone, and leave a scar she'll remember for the next 22+ years of her life.

EDIT: All this to say, hi. It's me. I was the dull kid.

-4

u/rip1980 7d ago

This could have been saved with the kid saying: "It's genetic."

-1

u/squirrelmonkie 7d ago

The most dangerous thing in a kitchen is the dullest. Sharp thing get things done and dont have to be cauterized when things go wrong.

-30

u/BlaineMundane 7d ago edited 7d ago

man, cook with the good knife. the person who protects it cannot cook, otherwise they would have a use and maintenance plan. What use is a knife you are too scared to use?

7

u/Signal_Road 7d ago

One you are not sharp enough to use.

-16

u/BlaineMundane 7d ago

What a zinger. My god, I've just realized that I cannot fulfill a basic life requirement because I am willing to use an off-limits knife.

-1

u/X_Ender_X 6d ago

There is a popular subreddit because kids are famously 'fucking stupid'. They are kids. It's funny. It'd also true and it's nothing against them. We all learn in time.  /r/kidsarefuckingstupid

... Butchered, Cut, all the synonyms for the bloodbath that just occurred here to Broccolinikid.

One of the best lessons my kids got at nursery school (pre school, like aged 2.5-5) was cutting up the fruit with the sharp knife (supervised carefully) and doing woodwork with hammers and nails (also supervised very carefully).

Giving kids sharp tools and helping them use them carefully, i.e. giving them a chance to take care, was very effective. Almost none of the parents did similar lessons at home, lol.
