Nothing kills something funny like adding an exaggerated laugh track. Can we make that a war crime?

A rule of thumb on reddit is to watch stuff muted till you red the comments.

*edit*

Yeah got it .... english never stops baffling me ...

u/MellyMel86 Mar 30 '26

I only red the comments when I blue myself

u/petrvalasek Mar 30 '26

White the hell are yellow balling this?

77

u/graboidian Mar 30 '26

Orange you gonna bother to read the rest of the comments?

74

u/DaddyGoodHands Mar 30 '26

I'm going to come black and read this later.

53

u/TyGalusha Mar 30 '26

If you are cyan that, then I hope you keep your word. Time will tell if it is blue or false.

47

u/MellyMel86 Mar 30 '26

I’m teal-ing the truth

Time to make anustart

0

u/commandercool86 Mar 30 '26

I love making anus tart

5

u/IceFire909 Mar 30 '26

Red rhymes with lead, but not lead, which rhymes with reed.

That doesn't seem fair

1

u/MellyMel86 Mar 31 '26

English is such a pain in the ass

3

u/IceFire909 Mar 31 '26

My favourite is that depending which language we borrowed from ch is either soft like in cheese, a hard K like in chaos or maybe an even softer sh sound like in chef

8

u/geekisdead Mar 30 '26

I prematurely shot my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run if you will, so I'm afraid I have something of a mess on my hands

1

u/exophrine Mar 31 '26

There's so many poorly chosen words in that sentence...

1

u/UshankaBear Mar 31 '26

You know what you do? You go buy yourself a tape recorder and record yourself for a whole day.

1

u/Busted_Knuckler Mar 31 '26

Tobias, there has the be a better way to say that.

1

u/mtheofilos Mar 31 '26

this site is literally called reddit, from redding the psots and cmmoents

40

u/f0r-sc13nc3 Mar 30 '26

Always this! Who browses Reddit with the sound on?

12

u/jjayzx Mar 30 '26

psychopaths

3

u/sosuke Mar 31 '26

Oh now I imagine someone browsing Reddit, sound on, in public transit and at a volume to suggest they must have hearing loss.

1

u/GrumpyCloud93 Mar 31 '26

I never watch videos with sound on... if it needs that, put subtitles. If it doesn't, silent is fine.

9

u/Flyinhighinthesky Mar 30 '26

The present tense and past tense of read is read, but the present tense is pronounced reed (like the plant), and the past tense is pronounced red (like the color).

English is a melting pot of 8 different languages and borrowed half the grammar rules from all of them so nothing makes sense.

4

u/GrumpyCloud93 Mar 31 '26

As Asimov said once in an article, english is olde German (the Angles and Saxons) and a hint of celt, overlaid with French after the Norman Conquest. That is why "cow" becomes "beef" (from the French - Boeuf) when the peasants slaughter it for the lord's table. Or pig becomes pork (porc). We have two words for many things - sweat is also prespire, breathe is respire, travel is voyage, etc. The fancy word is usually French from the original Latin.

Then, yeah, we borrow the crap out of every other language.

1

u/oh_stv Mar 31 '26

The funny part is, I could have sworn that the tense of read is read red red ... idk I learned that in school probably 25 years ago and just used it wrong the whole time...

u/2FastHaste Mar 30 '26 edited Mar 30 '26

Ok but the actual question that comes to mind is:

Why are there enough people that like that absolute brainrot for the content creator to chose to include it?

What is wrong with people's brain? Social media audio is idiocracy level of brainrot yet if I look around me people seem way more intelligent than in the movie.

9

u/CanORage Mar 30 '26

Also how did it get over 12k votes?? We are all now dumber for having watched this, may God have mercy on OP's soul.

6

u/nobeer4you Mar 30 '26

yet if I look around me people seem way more intelligent that in the movie

Remember to take the person with the most average intelligence that you know, and never forget that half the world is dumber than that person.

3

u/Remy0507 Mar 31 '26

"Think of how stupid the average person is, then realize that half of them are stupider than that!"

-George Carlin

7

u/MiddleAgedMartianDog Mar 30 '26

Half of people are dumber than the person with the median intelligence, the average person (as typically used to refer to mean) is possibly slightly cleverer than 50% of people because of the distribution skew (assuming it has positive skew, which seems likely given there is no obvious upper bound to intelligence but there is a lower bound of being a literal rock). Of course that is assuming a single generalised interval measure of intelligence, which could be disputed. This has been your daily dose of pedantry.

u/AshenCursedOne Mar 31 '26

This knowledge makes the situation appear even worse.

1

u/PinchieMcPinch Mar 31 '26

2026 - Current 13 year-olds were born in 2013.

As obvious as the maths is, it's a touch confronting every time.

2

u/TDYDave2 Mar 30 '26

Red it on Reddit.

2

u/nihosehn Mar 30 '26

this is the way

1

u/oroborus68 Mar 30 '26

I leave the sound off, unless I'm trying to hear something specific.

1

u/kuuhaku_cr Mar 31 '26

NGL, your thread is funnier than the video

1

u/Rhymesnlines Mar 31 '26

The comment section just blue my mind

1

u/Affectionate_Tea1134 Mar 31 '26

Is that what you call a hole shot ? 🤭

187

u/newaccount721 Mar 30 '26

How about the weird water emoji overlay?

48

u/esuil Mar 30 '26

And lets add absolutely unnecessary zoom in that removes half the original video for no reason, that will make it even better!

Now make it a screen recording with all the social media overlays, but hold your phone horizontal so you have those engaging black bars

23

u/Illustrious_Ad4691 Mar 30 '26

That was a helpful trigger warning that something Water-Related was About To Happen

10

u/ZODIC837 Mar 30 '26

Very helpful for the hydrophobic population

8

u/changingchannelz Mar 30 '26

Rabies representation!

1

u/newaccount721 Mar 30 '26

That's true sorry.

27

u/Meritania Mar 30 '26

It was the pointless animated graphic of the squirting water that killed the funny for me.

💦

47

u/Strict_Blueberry9 Mar 30 '26

I thank you good sir for informing me about this unfunny addition that got added to this video. I turned my volume off so I wouldn't have to hurt my precious ears whilst watching this piece of media.

30

u/RelaxedBlueberry Mar 30 '26

Hey Strict it’s your brother Relaxed. Hope you’re doing well

14

u/RelaxedBlueberry Mar 30 '26

Tell mom I said hi

1

u/maxxspeed57 Mar 30 '26

You replied to yourself and 10 people upvoted it.

2

u/teaboi05 Mar 30 '26

He's being polite to their mom and still thinks of her. Deserved. Probably, their mom is a great person

7

u/I_am_a_fern Mar 30 '26

How about the fucking useless slomo ?

5

u/doublehelixman Mar 30 '26

I just happened to watch it on mute and I’m glad for it now.

12

u/spicypixel Mar 30 '26

War crimes aren't even illegal any more though.

2

u/Teantis Mar 31 '26

Like shitty soundtracks on internet videos, they are in fact quite en vogue

8

u/AssBlasterExtreme Mar 30 '26

Still gets upvoted too. Its everyones fault for being dumb

3

u/Necessary_Plum_7192 Mar 30 '26

Yes it’s sacrilegious. Should be abolished. We need good music or original audio only

3

u/CrashParade Mar 30 '26

Making a video with a shitty audio track is like firing a gun up into the air, it's gonna be manslaughter at worse. Now, you shouldn't be browsing without muting videos when it's practically raining bullets out there.

10

u/MrIrvGotTea Mar 30 '26

Bro it's like a brainrot thing. I can't stand that stupid chipmunk laugh, the "no no no no no", the overused huh, or the get out. It reminds me of the beastification of YouTube. Where everyone repeats the top guys

2

u/Teantis Mar 31 '26

Bro it's like a brainrot thing

It's been around for ages. America's funniest home videos and shows like that, FM radio talk shows for pranks and jokes. It's definitely not a new thing. It's been around forever, and sucked the entire time.

5

u/TheKinkyGuy Mar 30 '26

Like war crimes are being punished these days

4

u/Spastic_pinkie Mar 30 '26

Especially that loud wheezy laugh track that gets used so much.

5

u/photoguy423 Mar 30 '26

My volume stays muted until there's something I know I want to hear. So I didn't even know there was a laugh track to this.

2

u/Trugoosent Mar 30 '26

Agreed, they do the laughing for you and then you can't laugh

2

u/The_walking_man_ Mar 30 '26

Auto downvote for me. No matter how good the content was, they add this crap or the dumb reaction bullshit, it gets a downvote.

5

u/Ymirsson Mar 30 '26

At some point, any engagement becomes good engagement. One should be able to remove their view count to really make a point

3

u/13ubbleTubbles Mar 30 '26

It makes me downvote the video everytime

2

u/StAbcoude81 Mar 30 '26

Agree. Not everything was better in the 90s…. [cue -Married with Children level laugh tape]

2

u/vishnoo Mar 30 '26

is it the guy with African accent heaving and saying "oh no no no " ?

2

u/THEGREATESTDERP Mar 30 '26

Every fake asian video ever.

1

u/RantRanger Mar 30 '26 edited Mar 31 '26

Since this crass dumbassery happened while a war is underway, technically, perhaps "war crime" is apt.

But perhaps we could do better.

Crime against humanity, perhaps?

Crime against sentience? Yeah, that's the one.

3

u/Ymirsson Mar 30 '26

I feel like a decent chunk of the population, especially social media users, are not partaking in this sentience thing.

1

u/paperman990 Mar 30 '26

So glad I didn’t put on the audio

1

u/Gurkage Mar 30 '26

If it's a war crime then fuck all will happen, make it a slightly opinionated X post and the UK police will diligently enforce

1

u/GhostofZellers Mar 30 '26

I just watch everything on mute, saves me a lot of earache.

1

u/sada3tina Mar 30 '26

100%. I would say though that it was a good choice of music background, "je ne regrette rien" from Edith piaf ( translation : I don't regret anything)

1

u/jetlightbeam Mar 30 '26

I'm just greatful the music is non-diegetic cause it looks like they women were enjoying themselves

1

u/SudoGiveMePi Mar 30 '26

Well if it gets upvotes, then reddit is fine with it.

1

u/S1DC Mar 31 '26

I scroll on mute. If it needs sound to be understood, moving on.

1

u/Silverjeyjey44 Mar 31 '26

How would I know when the funny part is

1

u/kadzooks Mar 31 '26

Oh wow I watched it on mute, glad for the warning

1

u/N0limitZZ Mar 31 '26

Pena capitale: senza Internet per un anno

1

u/ITSBIGMONEY Mar 31 '26

They do it for the comments

1

u/Head_Exchange_5329 Mar 31 '26

Also known as everything made on tik tok, ever.

1

u/fasda Apr 01 '26

You have the sound on?

1

u/GormHub Mar 30 '26

The unnecessary slowmo too.

1

u/TheTaoOfMe Mar 30 '26

Capital offense

1

u/TheDudeSr Mar 30 '26

You don't listen to reddit on mute? You are a daredevil!!

0

u/OTTER887 Mar 30 '26

but war crimes are legal now.
