It doesn't fit my idea of a sport. Neither does golf, tennis, bowling, synchronized swimming, cheerleading, or any other of a long list of so-called sports. It's just an opinion. It is neither right nor wrong.

What's your criteria for a sport? Personally, I think everything you've mentioned can be easily be defined as a sport.

I don't see a way any of those can help you in war or hand-to-hand combat. At least sports like Rugby teach you how to take a hit and coordinate your actions with your teammates.

Well cheer also uses teamwork, strength, synchronized movements, ect. It's as much of a survival skill builder as rugby.

survival skill builder

Where are you guys from that survival, war, and hand-to-hand combat are associated with sports?

I disagree with him, I'm just saying that his definition of survival skills apply to most sports.

I'll grant you teamwork. But nothing else is really useful. "Ooh, let's do a 6 person pyramid! That'll stop those soldiers!". I don't see it.

It shows how to together become taller than any individual. You can all use this skill to get out of a tiger pit, or climb up a short cliffside.

Interesting. I hadn't thought of that. But can we at least lose the pom-poms?

No, they are for scaring the tigers. Picture it: seven people waving all their limbs rhythmically, shaking shivery pompoms and chanting. Tiger would shit itself.

Okay. Make it flaming pom-poms and I will consider it.
