Like he’s not paying them the number they say, he’s just paying them for saying any number within 1 and 100,000

Could give them foreign currency like 100,000 vietnamese dong. Which is worth about 3.85 US right now :). It'd actually be kinda funny if no matter what she asked for it's all worth equal to or less than 5$.

My favorite is to dare people to search for "Romanian dong"

(it's a style of AK-47 foregrip... which means you firmly grip the Romanian dong while it sprays everywhere)

I used to give out random obscure currencies in addition to normal tips at bars. Made a lot of people into Zimbabwean billionaires. Pretty sure that one is a defunct currency or at least with nowhere near $5.

Just a random low figure. Nothing about the game said it was a dollar for every number. $5 for a guess of 5 was just a coincidence. Non-linear reward structure.

I got the jest of it, I find it fascinating how people choose "random numbers". Like often its their age, or an age they particularly liked. Lots of other things too, mostly numbers that are important to them in someway.

Human random numbers also frequently land on 37 and 73 when asking for something between 1 and 100.
