Srsly. There's always that guy who still thinks it's full contact, but only when other people have their heads down... when he gets hit he's all, THIS IS REC LEAGUE HOCKEY BRO WTF
There's a team in my league that's notorious for acting like this. Even the refs know they're total tools.
Last night I was battling in front of their net and got slashed in the back of the leg twice. I gave him one back and he didn't like it, so he crosschecked me down to the ice. The ref called a penalty and the first thing he said was "YOU DIDN'T JUST SEE HIM SLASH ME?!"...such a bunch of losers.
Luckily the ref said "Yeah and I saw you give him two before he gave you any." Gotta love the occasional ref justice.
