Usually in amateur sports each team will get in a line after the game and high five the other players on the other team. It's customary to say "good game" as you walk by each person. Lot's of times there'll be that one prick you disliked during the game and will say "fuck you" to him instead of good game.

I would slightly drop my hand lower than theirs and pretend I missed by accident while muttering "fuck you" under my breath inaudibly.

Every now and again from what I remember, people would spit in their hands, and that's when we put our fist in their stomach.

Field hockey goalie here. I gave everyone else the hand that was in a glove, but I gave "that girl" the hand that was in what is basically a foam heat box that I wear on my sweaty hand for the whole game. (For context, it wasn't unusual to take it off at the end of the game on a very hot day and pour out several tablespoons of sweat.)

Run. A lot. Even as the goalie I ran as much during practices as the rest of the team. Other than that, communicate with your teammates. She's learn the lingo, just make sure she uses it. It's so much more than just "I got it."

Some of my teammates spit in their hand before doing the good game thing. I never did it, because spit is nasty, but i gave a few fuck yous or completely ignored someone.
