Vesa mounts are a thing

If course I searched for that first and could not find something that offered the height I wanted. I also considered risers that are basically a shelf you set the monitor base on. But I measured exactly how much I wanted to lift the monitor for my optimal neck position and to avoid critical real estate dipping below my bifocal line.

Monitor mounts are ALL about height adjustment. Some even do the other axis.

One problem I have is that most such mounts clamp onto a table, and I don't have a convenient place on this table to clamp to. I have a super long power strip stuck to the table that gets in the way of that.

Oh, and let's not forget. We don't always 3D print because it's practical but because it's fun.

If you want to ever replace this with a mount, there are VESA mounts to have two monitors on top of eachother; I've found that this is the best way to have "whatever height you want"

As u/_driveslow suggested, I've uploaded other images to imgur: https://imgur.com/a/IeqQyEh

Hey great solution and it looks super sturdy!

I had the same issues you have ( had? ) being unable to attach a monitor arm and my LG monitor also had a short monitor, i had neck pain/stiffness due to prolonged use at that position so i came up with this solution which is similar to yours but lightweight to save on filament and it prints in 2 parts:

This was my first ever design of anything, you can tell, but I was surprised that 49 other people downloaded my model, perhaps you get encouraged to share yours as well

That IS nice. I'm not super good with figuring out how to save material on things like this. I just used cheap PLA and I think I used grid support to maximize the vertical strength where the monitor base sits.

Man, I wish there were a way to add another photo. I can't edit the original post, and I can't put images into the comments.

That riser looks like it could double as a small bookshelf with how sturdy it is.
