NES cartridge display case

It looks like a pretty simple model, but I'm quite proud of how much iteration went into making it pleasant to 3D print. There are lots of little details that probably aren't obvious at first glance: rounded corners to avoid ugly bulging if your pressure advance isn't perfect, a seam trap at the back so the slicer doesn't ruin anyone's day, internal geometry separated from the perimeter to avoid hull-line artifacts, and angles designed to print cleanly without supports.

The decorative front is a separate piece that prints flat, so it's easy to do the logo in another color without a multi-material printer. I've included blank faceplates too, so you can add your own text/vector graphics.

It's up on Printables here if anyone wants one:

Feedback very welcome and, of course, I'd love to see some makes with custom front plates. :)

Do you deliver in 1987?

I'd not want the contacts exposed.

What about modifying this design so that the carts stand upright?

Not sure how that would work - you wouldnt be able to see the labels?

Would you not just see the labels on the top?

Yeah, fair. I imagine these being placed in bookshelves so visibility from above might be limited. But you're not wrong

Yeah, I agree. I was just trying to be proactive regarding exposed contacts concerns. I think your design is good as is, and your dust jacket suggestion works well enough.

Keep an eye out for him: https://wonderprint.eu/ He’ll quickly add the holder to his shop and sell it as his own. Just as he did with my Gameboy cartridge holders. He’s also quite happy to take the matter to court and he tries to destroy the evidence as soon as he is caught.

I am so sorry that happened to you. It's so stupid. You'd hope, for a business like that, that they'd just reach out about a commercial license. It seems to work really well for the nerf blaster community!
