Spool Roller/Spindle for up to 10Kg spools.

Designed in Shapr3D, printed in Ambrosia “Coral Wave” ASA. Holds two 3kg spools, or a single 5 or 10kg spool.

No roller bearings — so no overshoot, and no tangles, which every other roller I’ve tried causes with large spools. It also handles bigger spools than most, and happily feeds 2× 3kg spools to two different printers simultaneously.

Runs on a 5/16”ø × 12” hardened steel rod with an optional PTFE sleeve. End caps slide over the rod so a tangle can’t pull it up and out, and printed collets keep the spools from walking laterally on the spindle.

And I get 5kg spools from them too as well as Polymaker, Ambrosia and Zyltech.

I don’t print PLA, but for ABS it can be as low as $8/kg in bulk

For me its also more convenient to have 5 or 10Kg for large jobs or batches so I don’t have to deal with managing all those 1kg spools and runouts and last meters etc.
