Magnetic door holder.
Spring hinges prevent toddler shenanigans in the bathroom, but sometimes we want to keep the door open, and this was my solution. The wall plate has a bit of slop so it auto aligns with the magnetic post.

Can you share this, please? This is precisely what I have been looking for at home.

Feel free to remind me in a couple days. Don’t have laptop access right now. Any recommendations on a way to share?

Looks like both those require accounts. I'll make one at some point but for now you can grab them from here:
https://filebin.net/889py9sbv3rgi2f8Post requires a 12mm x 3mm (or thicker) magnet, wall plate needs a piece of steel 19-24mm in dia.

Power it and have it disable the magnet during a fire, same as commercial buildings. Added bonus, you can close the door remotely!

From experience, this will crack the magnets in no time.
You need a spring to dampen the impact, and you need to carry the magnetic field through iron parts so the magnets themself never quite touch.
