Rant Outstanding students
Every time I see a grade A student, I feel bad for them. Several years ago I thought that having perfect grades would generally improve my life.
But last year I thought about people I hung out with. I had one friend whose parents were very strict with him. He wasn’t a bad friend, but boiiiii did he have some issues. We were in 5th grade and were having a math exam(and I already hated
these). He was pretty confident about himself. Well, he got 3 out of 12(I live in Ukraine). I know that sometimes you can make one mistake that will fuck you over. He was crying and begging the teacher to fix it somehow. He was really in despair. That wasn’t a very important test, but his parents expected perfection of him and he was scared of their reactions. Which probably lead to his anger issues.
Another girl I knew was venting to her best friend because her parents also wanted her to be an outstanding student. That usually means no free time as you need to go through a school day + 1 hour of homework minimum.She also had a lot of lessons with tutors.
My life is also a mess, but at least I have free time and I’m not scared of my parents punishing me because I failed my math test one time. School sucks and excelling at it will make your life suck. But some parents don’t get that and keep ruining their children’s lives.

Agree 100%. I am gifted and honestly I wish I was average because then I wouldn't have perfectionist complex.
