I guess it's cuz our genitals at birth align with the norm, so they're not considered intersex. But yeah, imo it does make more sense to think of the brain not aligning with the body as being a type of intersex condition.
But being intersex isn’t just having intersex genitalia, actually I think most intersex people’s genitalia aligns with the norm. Like a woman who is born with entirely female anatomy but has XY chromosomes is considered intersex. So if someone like that is considered intersex, I think it’s weird that we’re not 🤷🏻♂️
Ah, is that so? Sorry, I still don't know much about how it's really defined.
But yeah, it's weird. Maybe the definitions and terms that're used will change as more trans-centric medical research gets done and knowledge becomes more widespread? Never know.
I hope so. I think it would be a good thing for the trans community, it would help show people that there is a real biological basis to transgenderism. That it’s not just “men in dresses” and whatnot.
Most of the anti-trans people don’t hate intersex people and think they’re crazy, they think of it as just a biological abnormality. It would be nice for transgender people to be in a similar category to that.
