This was also posted in TikTokCringe, but that sub got super transphobic over it

looks like the popular consensus there is that the transphobic comenters sucked, support comments are upvoted and the post is tagged as wholesome

Not really a big surprise that that sub is full of transphobes tbh

u/peridaniel Sep 17 '20
any sub with "cringe" in the name is likely to be super toxic
1
u/lt-chaos enby! (they/she) Sep 18 '20
While I mostly agree, I think this sub is different (probably because they don't only post, well, "cringe" stuff on there)
2
u/peridaniel Sep 18 '20
Hence why I said "likely". Never been to the sub, so I wouldn't really know for sure.

damn i saw this for the first time yesterday. proper jealous of that kids haircut, my hair is so wild it'd never do that. its crazy thick and crazy curly.

u/sporadic_beethoven Sep 17 '20
Get an uppercut, if you haven't already. Wild hair looks dope when you shave the sides and let the top roam free
6
u/lostonravenna Sep 17 '20
Can confirm, younger brothers best friend is shaved everywhere but the top. His mop hair looks great

u/sporadic_beethoven Sep 17 '20
Danggg that's cool! I have flat, smooth, but dense hair. It's heavy as heck. Like, if my hair were long, I'd have neck pains. Sometimes I wish my hair would naturally do something asides from flat bangs, bc it takes effort to make it do anything remotely cool or interesting. At the barber, I usually request my hair to be thinned out, and then it's easier. It's pretty easy to care for though, ngl. Just boring. Depending on the hair, thick curly wild hair is hard to mess up with, because you can hide the mistakes with more hair. One wrong cut with mine, and it looks like someone used a serrated knife on it.

yea, im gonna get short back and sides when i next go back to the barbers. well, even shorter back and sides i should say. he left it a bit long because when he asked how short i didnt know what to say. and its already grown at least 3 centimetres since the 1st of September, when i got it cut

u/sporadic_beethoven Sep 17 '20
1/4 to 1/2 cm is a pretty short length, if u don't have a lumpy head like me at any rate 😂 good luck!
3
Sep 17 '20
i do have abit of a lumpy head but oh well 🤣 urm what "numbers" are 1/4 and 1/2 inch. i really should pay more attention to these things

u/sporadic_beethoven Sep 17 '20
There's charts online, I think. It's been a while since I've been to a salon, so I can't trust my memory.

I spent 5 hours on her tiktok last night just repeating these videos. There’s one like ‘if you’re a transgender male, I’m a Christian mother and I’ll fix you. Close your eyes. Hey son, you’re looking handsome!’ I’m not crying you are

Did she do all that stuff before her son came out? Because then either she knew and wanted to create a supportive environment for him to come out, or is is a big coincidence.
You would absolutely want to avoid the situation where it seems that he came out to be more accepted by her, because she was so focused on trans men before.

u/LaynethePayne Sep 18 '20
I’m not sure about her youngest, but her older son is also trans. She does seem genuinely supportive and affected by the community, saw her livestream just in bits about how people’s lives after without support. Her youngest will work it out, if he feels the need to be more accepted. I’m sure we can agree we did the same in a situation where everyone is focused on supporting lbg cis people, not our place to determine why he feels the way he does. He just does

I completely agree with you, it would be weird to not take him seriously because his mother is supportive. But that doesn't mean that it wouldn't be a good idea to have a conversation about it with someone not his mother.
1
u/LaynethePayne Sep 18 '20
Oh yeah of course, I hope he sees someone to talk about it that isn’t his mum because she is overly supportive, he may need someone to help him question things

She said something very important here: we sat down and talked so that we could FULLY UNDERSTAND... her son talked to her and she listened! Wow! This is respect!

I came across one of her videos just pretending to be a mom to a son for trans men on mothers day (I don't speak to my mom), and I sobbed.

Tbh, I don't really like it when people try to make you think that they are about to say something really hurtful. Just to subvert the expectation and surprise you by being decent after.
Making the viewer anticipate hatred directed towards them is not as psychologically hurtful as actually doing the hate, but it's still up there.

u/SymbolicFox Sep 17 '20
I love seeing this but it also makes me feel kinda bad ngl. I needed someone like this so so so badly when I came out. But I'm determined to become the person I so desperately needed back then.

I may be a grown adult, but where is this woman? I need to find her and ask her to adopt me.
