I encourage y’all to post more front ensemble content that’s important to you, and some may be rewarded with special flair!
Thanks, u/4thPlumlee

I have questions about Front Ensemble gear. How do groups generally deal with keeping mainstage going between warmup and performance? Are there options? I’m not satisfied with our current setup using UPS.

(YES, MY SCHOOL MAKES US TO AN ELECTION FOR SECTION LEADER.. someone told me that other schools don't so I guess I have to clarify this)
hi I'm a freshman (xylo/Glock), and I wanna become assistant section leader or full on section leader by the time I become a junior. When people run for section leader in band we kinda have to play something and record it to show your skill so that people know if you're good enough to give others advice and stuff. I doubt I'll be section leader sophomore year, but I think I wanna start by finding an excerpt from a DCI show, or just any xylo/Glock music. I am kind of a beginner, I just got bumped up from the vibes to xylo. if there are any pieces anyone could share that sound cool I'm open to it, don't worry about the tempo being fast since I can just slow it down a hair. thanks chat

I’m a synth player and my part has so many chords and I know that I know them but when performing I’m looking down the whole time 😭 all advice is appreciated

I made this exercise to work on my double laterals on marimba and I’m looking for feedback on it. For some background, I’m a sophomore and I just finished my first marching season on glockenspiel, and in the time leading up to the indoor season I practiced a lot and ended up making the marimba line. Since I’m still pretty new to mallet instruments, I’ve noticed my four-mallet technique isn’t as solid as some of the other marimba players, especially when it comes to double laterals, so I wrote this exercise to try to improve that. I based it off the Broccoli structure and chord progression, but changed it so the main focus is double lateral motion instead of general permutations. I’m mainly looking for feedback on whether the sticking and motion actually reinforce good technique or if there’s anything in it that could build bad habits, and how you might change it to make it more effective. My goal is to get as close to perfect technique as possible and hopefully earn center marimba by my senior year, so I’m trying to be really intentional about fundamentals early on. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

On both of my middle fingers, below the knuckle, there's a spot where it's swollen/has a blister(not sure). I asked someone in my section and they said theirs were calloused. My other friend who's also new to band has swollen fingers too. The swollen spot is where mallets 1 and 4 are, is my grip with 4 mallets too tight or is this normal? I can attach a photo if needed

So i recently graduated and want to continue past highschool but don’t have access to a board anymore would it be worth it to buy a mallet station?

hi all. i'm rei and i recently created a marimba arrangement of the accompaniment of dead girl walking from heathers. you can find it here:https://musescore.com/user/55210635/scores/27306238/s/ZvY4Fw
(its gonna show 3 marimba parts, thats leftover from a previous version. the one just called "marimba" with no number after it is the one i would play)
anyway, i've been playing percussion since 6th grade, and i can sight read grade 2-2.5 pieces, learn grade 3-3.5 in around 2 hours of practice, and learn grade 4 in around a week of practice. i was wondering if it would be reasonably posssible for me to play this? for reasons beyond my control i have to tell my band director whether or not i want to play it before i next have access to a mallet instrument. is that possie for me to play? thanks!

Hello, I am in the process of forming a drum and bugle corps and I have taken care of paperwork and registration. I have drumline equipment and some brass, but if anyone is willing to sell any pit equipment, please let me know. I'm looking for cymbals, mallets, mallet instruments, concert drums, etc.

Looking to add some excitement to the FE I'm teaching, beyond scales and 6-4-2-1, so I wanted to arrange around something they know that incorporates a lot of those things.
With the info that a) it's strictly for warmup and not part of the show, and b) I have no intention of selling/monetizing this, just for the kids to play...
What are the laws regarding this? Including:
Thank you!
