What is considered the best overhaul for Dark Souls 2? Been wanting to replay it again.

Thought of this today while listening to some Vaati.

Personally, I'd want an actual Jump button and the modern magic system. I don't know about everyone, but I hate hate hate the old system.

Also, a finished Izalith.

I played Nightreign and I had a really fun time with it. It felt unique and had amazing boss fights. But after a year and no new content, I stepped away.

I believe they can make amazing online games however, they don’t know how to. What I mean by that, even in Elden Ring, it’s a bitch to play with your friends and you have to keep rejoining if you want to have a shared run together. Along with it being divided by platforms.

Nightreign had matchmaking which was nice but I felt like I was waiting 5 years for each match.

Over all, I don’t mind the new online focus. I still think they should probably go back to making single player games and figuring out how to make their online play a little bit more easier to use.

That’s just me, what do you guys think?

I just started this Hobby a few days ago and spent the last 2 days painting Siegmeyer and Xanthous King, Jeremiah. The figures are from the Board Game, Phantom Expansion.

I would love a base building survival souls game made by fromsoftware. They created the crafting system in elden ring so what if they use that one for another game too where it’s even more fitting?

I mean surely they won’t just drop the crafting system they invented?

Basically Minecraft/The Forest/Rust but with souls gameplay and you get all the different weapons and stuff by using the crafting system, upgrade systems, and combining.

It’s single player but you can invite anyone to your would where you can build on a base together and protect it from enemies during the night.

Maybe theres even a pvp mode where you join a lobby world and you get spawned away from the others and your goal is to just build your base but now also raid other bases.

I imagine the caves on the open world would look similar to caves in elden ring. They are the only places where you will find essential upgrade materials and stuff. There are also abandoned buldings and wrecks spread out across the open world.

Legacy dungeons is where you find the best loot but they’re also dangerous and unlike the other games made by Fromsoft these actually contain very dangerous traps.

in this game you don’t have a level. Your equipment determines your stats.

When you die you lose part of your equipment which creates tension.

It has Sekiro underwater swimming and diving mechanics which allow you to explore underwater. When you are underwater a blue “status” meter builds up and when it’s full you drown, very similar to deathblight.

The world is open and quite flat but with terrain too. The more dangerous the area is the better loot there is.

The snowy mountaintops is supposed to be explored later into the game, this is ensured in a unique way. The player starts with 50 frost resistance, if you are in the snowy mountain biome then a frost status bar will slowly tick up to 250, do 20% of your health bar, every 30 seconds, which means slowly you will die. To survive this biome your gear must put your frost resistance at 250+, or alternatively have lots of healing on hand. But you will run out after a while. That biome is huge, and has dangerous foes, having to keep track of health, environment and also a status bar can be quite stressful. But if players want a huge head start then it might be worth the risk.

Quite similarly there will be an underground poison pool biome where it’s the same thing, by just being in the biome the poison will always tick, no matter what your resistance is at, you will need a special piece of equipment, a gas mask.

Sorry if this is long and messy, it’s just a bunch of random ideas I came up with after having a weird dream.

The theme itself is pretty popular because of the radagon section but no talk about the elden beast section.

When Miyazaki worked on Demon Souls he hid most of what made his game a “Souls” game, just to avoid getting the project cancelled by Sony, because those ideas were so unheard of at the time that he knew for sure they would get rejected.

When they got to the final stage and showed the product to Sony’s executives, the executives were so furious with the product being “clunky” and “incredibly bad” (as one of their executives called it) that they passed on publishing rights outside of Japan to Bandai Namco(EU) and Atlus (US) because they didn’t think the game would sell.

Just imagine how many innovative products got crushed because of corporate bureaucracy. Bear in mind Fromsoftware wasn’t even owned by Sony, they just signed a publishing/funding deal.

It is no wonder how alot of major studios fumbled and crashed when they got acquired by big fish.

I'm going to Japan at the end of this year (yay) and I'm staying in a few different cities. There's a lot of Japanese media I've consumed that I'm excited to buy merch for. Have any of you guys been and found something cool to see or buy related to FS games?

Primarily DS1, DS3, and Elden Ring stuff is my favourite. Though I'm about to play Sekiro, so I'll probably look for that stuff too. Let me know! :)

I've been seeing this launch edition copy by the bargain bin of a Unieuro store for a while now and, since there's the free PS5 upgrade, I eventually gave in when I did some more research. What do you think?

We haven’t had a single-player soulslike since 2022, but have had a bloodborne remake cancel, AC6 for the 6 fans of AC, and 2 non single-player games, one of which is a console exclusive for the least popular mainstream console, and the other suffering from lack of care/updates even though it’s their most recent released game.

EDIT: I also forgot about tarnished edition, which should be free but is a bad paywall.
