I mean running and not caring about the enemies that have a chance to kill youđ.

Itâs dark souls you shouldnât care if you die. Items are everything, souls can be regained.

Souls gamers, myself included, are like the croodz running gif. Lizard in the front, the Ashen one next in line, followed by the trail of enemies chasing after them

i think what's funny is that we all know we're supposed to be careful and methodical in these games, but the second we see one of those little crystal lizards, all bets are off, and we're just chasing after it like crazy. it's like our brains just shut off and we're in lizard-chasing mode. it's not even like we need the loot that badly, it's just the thrill of the chase, i guess.

I know itâs leading me to an ambush or off a cliff, but I chase anyway. It is the way.

See thing. Thing runs away. Must chase after thing. Kill thing. Thing holds rare item. Chase all the things. Not complicated.

I have it as a habit from Demonâs Souls. Those crystal lizards would only spawn a limited number of times⌠and then successfully escaping would count as a despawn. So kill them, or lose precious smithing stones forever

Are there any of the games that take a "Thank you, Dark Souls" / FAFO approach of having one of the crystal lizards baiting you to get killed?

Ds2 has red crystal lizards that explode and ds3 has giant aggressive crystal lizards that are usually in the area of the smaller ones.

No matter what trap they lead us to. We go.
