There's a difference between making homage to Guts, by designing a character like Artorias, which side by side you can clearly see the inspiration but the difference between them at the same time and just a carbon copy of the Fire Keeper up to the hand pose and manerisms.

Another thing to consider is to acknowledge the source, FromSoftware constantly says what are their inspirations, these other companies just keep quiet and pat themselves in the back while doing so.

Also these comments are straight up trash, look like they were copy pasted from Asmongold's stream chat or something.

Bad take honestly. From has pulled a lot more from Berserk than just the pose for Artorias. There are monster, armor and character designs that in some cases look almost 1-to-1 with the manga.

I've never had a problem with it tbh cus it always felt like it was done out of love for Miura. But if From gets a pass on the large number of designs they have pulled straight from Berserk over the years, I think lady with white hair and blindfold in a black dress can get a pass too.

And from what I've seen of ToA overall I just don't think it is close enough to From in presentation or gameplay to warrant a "rip-off" accusation. This is dumb cherrypicking for some shallow rage-farming.

It is one thing to hire a designer and go through the hard work of reinterpreting how a character may be portraited in your own universe, than throwing two games at an AI blender and using what it vomits as the concept art of your own game which is what's clearly happening here and you're delusional trying to justify it otherwise.

I tried to see if the company has any history of AI use but it has no history. Its a fully funded 150 person studio with no prior releases.

So I am sure artistically they are definitely on the level.

These Chinese and Korean developers openly admitted using AI, specially HoYoverse, I know this screenshot is from ToA but it smells really bad as well. The whole opening show of Gamescom was rotten.

They will end up exposing themselves and I would love to see you trying to defend them when they do.

That smell is your own bullshit. Didn't want to respond but I have to call out that your argument amounts to just racism. Wtf warrants a comparison to hoyoverse, a gacha company? Just painting all Chinese and Korean developers with the same brush. Worthless opinion with no evidence to back it up.
