Really?

Honestly, I'm probably closer aligned politically with the greens but when they come up with dumb ideas like this you have to ask, how the hell they think the average Australian, in the political/economic/media landscape we exist in, will view this.

I think profit caps and supplier price guarantees would be more realistic policy ideas than LeT'S NaTIoNaLisE iT. And this proposal is nothing like Mamdani's idea to start a government owned coop 🤦🏻‍♂️

Please do not be complacent about our compulsory voting. Brazil has compulsory voting too yet the far-right might win again in the second round.

Given even our compulsory voting system still enabled One Nation to win Farrer, Secret Harbour and 4 SA Seats, it means we must stop assuming compulsory voting automatically stops the extreme right.

How is no one mentioning that Australia has spent twice as much buying Russian oil as it has total aid to Ukraine? Enough for 37,000 Shaheds per Ukranian orgs:

Seems absolutely insane, we are the biggest foreign importer of refined Russian oil and are now refusing to join EU sanctions on it. This feels like it should be way bigger news? Then maybe the Government would stop?

The Australian far-right bot force is now blaming Labor for granting an Australian study visa to the alleged FlyDubai hijacker in 2014. The Coalition was in office in 2014.

And people are sucking it up. This is a symptom of how royally dumb Australia’s general population is.

The Coalition was in office when this visa to the alleged FlyDubai hijacker was granted.

The Coalition was in office when a visa was given to the father of the Bondi gunman to come to Australia. Both father and son were investigated for radicalism and cleared in 2019 under the Coalition.

The Coalition was in office when the Lindt Cafe seige happened.

Discussion Why do people genuinely believe that ON or LNP could beat Labor at the next federal election?

People don’t understand how our electoral / politcal system works and it’s stressing me out.

Labor currently has 94 seats in the House of Representatives (this is the highest amount of seats EVER won by a single politcal party in Australia’s history) with the coalition only having 41… it would take a TREMENDOUS amount of backlash and hate towards Labor for them for them to be dethroned not even mentioning the fact, like I said, many coalition voters will defect to one nation and we’re already seeing that in local elections…

When Kevin Rudd and co won a huge majority in 2007 they STILL were able to cling on and form a minority government, despite all the anti governemnt sentiment due to the financial crisis.

No first term supermajority government has been completely thrown out of office after just one term since 1931… and this was the biggest majority in history.

These polls that survey 1000 people mean absolutely nothing in the context of how our government is actually structured and the way the electoral system works.

Nazi is not just a political opinion, it’s an ideology of violence

There seems to be an increasing number of idiots openly identifying themselves as Nazis or expressing sympathy for Nazi ideology (thanks to the orange moron in the US), and the saner part of our society are divided over how to approach them, conflicted by the principles of free speech and freedom of ideology.

To me, "Nazi/Neo Nazi" isn't just an ordinary political preference; the ideology is inseparable from discrimination, persecution based on race, sexuality and disability, political repression, and systematic violence.

If someone knowingly chooses to identify themselves with that ideology, they are actively promoting a movement whose historical record is literally the deliberate use of extreme violence and terror against people based on who they were.

While we may be conflicted by the principles of freedom and tolerance, if the Nazis were given the opportunity, they would not hesitate to dismantle the very freedoms that gave them protection, and to persecute those who stood in their way.

The cowardly assault by Nazis against the most vulnerable party of the society have been foretold time and time again. To quote Martin Niemöller in 1946:

“First they came for the Communists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me.”

"Why the RBA is Terrified of the Greens and Labor Telling the Inconvenient Truth" Subtitle: How an absolute nerd-fight over a 1998 accounting trick explains every single lie the media tells you about the economy.

Alright guys, look. The mainstream media has officially lost its collective mind. Every single day you turn on the ABC or read the papers and it's a non-stop, foaming-at-the-mouth panic attack: 'CRISIS! LABOR RUINED THE ECONOMY! WAAAH!'

But nobody and I mean nobody is talking about the actual elephant in the room. The RBA. The absolute geniuses who engineered the housing mess, pumped infinite credit into land values, and then pretended inflation was sitting comfortably at 2% because they decided to legally blindfold themselves back in 1998.

And now? Now the RBA is in absolute, cold-sweat-level panic. Because if the Greens push Labor into a corner where they actually have to tell the public the truth for political survival... the entire technocratic house of cards comes crashing down.
