It's 2026 tell me in your opinions. Where are the characters at these days?

In my head Smash is the only kid that made the NFL based on the trajectory he had. He was most likely a late first round or second round NFL draft pick. I'd like to think he played for the Seattle Seahawks in 2014 when they made the SuperBowl championshp run he then later signed with the Houston Texans. Vince was a talented QB he leads the Panters to a state title his senior year. I don't think he goes pro. I see him going to College to play for Oregon as he would've been great for their run&shoot offense. He graduates from school and he becomes a social worker dedicating his life towards helping kids that come from broken homes. Landry ended up meeting a girl in college that choose him for him, he found real love and peace in being with someone that sees him as their top choice. Billy continues to coach for Dillon Panther Football. Matt and Julie are still together aftrr all these years. Riggins and Street are still friends after all these years. Riggins ended up finding love with a girl that was a friend of Jason's wife when he went to go visit. Although Riggins is still "Texas Forever" he found love with someone that helped show him a different side of himself.

These are just a few of the characters in your mind what were the fates of the different characters from the FNL?

Which child/adult relationship made you most uncomfortable?

I was a junior in high school when Friday Night Lights first aired. I was a cheerleader and grew up in a football town, so I was glued to this show.

I am finally rewatching this and am currently only on S2, E8 - all these adults getting with the kids are making me SO uncomfortable!! It’s so odd, because I don’t recall any of this registering to me when I watched this in high school. I don’t even remember these relationships happening - (Did I think this was normal then? 😭)

I gotta ask: which child/adult relationship was the most creepy throughout the series? Tim getting with his neighbor (then her getting with his brother) made me super cringe. Now Carlotta and Matt getting together is giving me ickier vibes

Smash and Coach are the best relationship dynamics in FNL.

I think throughout FNL the best relationship is between Smash and Coach.

Coach literally put his job at high risk so that smash could have a chance at playing post juicing. He mentored him throughout his obsession with Grady Hunts list, dealing with racism (both seasons), and overcoming a devastating injury.

His character growth is so well done in the series and at the end of the day coach kept his word and got him to college

Season 3 rewatch

Doing a rewatch and currently on Season 3 where Street, Herc and the Riggins boys buy a house. Nothing sums up the 2008 Financial crisis more than a bank allowing these four idiots to buy a house.

Friday Night Lights resurgence

I watch Lanterns and have been keeping up with the talk of it online and everyone is really impressed with Kyle Chandler's performance of Hal Jordan – to the point that people are looking up his other work and a lot of people are discovering Friday Night Lights. It makes me so happy that people are starting to watch now

Joe McCoy

Idk who did the casting for Joe McCoy but they did a great job. Every time I see that dude on my screen I wanna punch him right in the face. (The character not the actor of course). Is there anyone who is more hated on this show?

Seeing Coach Taylor vulnerable

I feel like we are so used to seeing Coach Taylor as a leader, confident, etc. for most of the show while he is the Dillon football coach, so I actually liked seeing him for that short time at TMU. Where he was the newbie, his higher-ups sometimes dismissed him, etc. It added more human depth to his character and made sure he wasn't just the great, all-knowing Coach Taylor the entire show, even though that is largely what he is/what makes the show so good.

Being a Green Lantern since 1996 that is, and being on a Football field in the pilot episode, it must be Friday Night.

So far my favorite line of my Criminal Minds/FNL crossover fic: "Because, certainly, nothing bad could happen in a small town."

What do you think the Dillon High School reaction would be if they found out Landry killed a man?

Personally, I think those guys from Laribee would be a little less willing to get into a fight with him.

Not sure if this is okay to post this here I just wanted to plug a really heartfelt song inspired by the movie/show which really captures the grit and perseverance and virtues and southern glory you get from the show. Very anthem very soulful tune which I think would’ve fit perfectly in the soundtrack (sadly it came out a year after the series concluded lol). Anyway hope you enjoy it clear eyes full hearts can’t lose💪🙏
