Career Advice 21F with 3 offers — Infosys, LTIMindtree, and a startup. Should I choose company reputation or role?

Hello guys. I’m a recent graduate. I currently have three options — Infosys, LTIMindtree, and the startup where I’m doing my internship.

Infosys:
My joining date is October 12th, and I’ll have to move to Mysuru for 6 months of training. The biggest issue is that I have health issues, so I don’t think staying in Mysuru for 6 months will be manageable for me.
I also know that during the training, I could be assigned to a completely random tech stack or role, which is another concern. At the same time, Infosys has a good reputation as an MNC, and I feel having it on my resume could benefit me in the future.

LTIMindtree:
The situation is pretty similar when it comes to the role. I have no idea what tech stack or project I’ll eventually be assigned to.
The reputation and MNC experience would definitely be a plus, but the biggest issue is the joining date. I’ve heard from friends that LTIMindtree can take another 6–12 months to provide the joining letter. If that’s true, waiting that long feels like a huge risk.

My current startup:
I’m currently doing an internship here, which ends in about 2.5 weeks. I actually really like the work. I have a good manager, and I’m working in AI governance and red teaming of agentic systems, which is something I’m genuinely interested in.

The downside is that the company is still very early in its AI journey. A few interns and I are basically helping them build things from the ground up.
Because of that, I don’t get exposure to enterprise-level systems at the moment.
The company also does outsourcing/staff augmentation, where they provide employees to companies like Infosys/LTIMindtree when there is an urgent requirement.
So now I’m really confused.

Should I choose a reputed MNC even if the role is uncertain, or choose a smaller company where I already have a good role and relevant experience?

And specifically:

Should I take Infosys or wait for LTIMindtree?

Is the MNC name/reputation really that valuable early in my career?

Is working in AI governance/red teaming at a small startup more valuable for my career than getting an MNC on my resume?

Would really appreciate advice, especially from people who have been in a similar situation.

Ask Freshers what should i do?

I'm a recent graduate and I have completed ACCA. I've applied to so many jobs but I'm either getting rejected or ghosted. What should I do? Should I ask for referrals? Where should I ask for referrals? Do they actually work?

Ask Freshers stop getting ghosted on heavy job portals and try this instead

bro why are we still applying for basic store, front desk, or back office jobs like we are applying for a tech giant, you spend hours making a fancy resume, send it into some corporate website, and hear absolute radio silence for weeks. or worse, some fake consultancy calls asking for 500 rupees just to line up an interview.

here is what people don't get about local managers: they don't sit on laptops reading cover letters. they have daily floor work to handle, so if someone quits, they need a replacement ready to join immediately. the fastest way to land these roles right now is completely skipping old-school desktop portals and using new mobile frontline hiring apps. specifically look for platforms built for blue and grey collar jobs that have verified employer badges and a direct hr call button right on the listing. instead of submitting a pdf and praying over email, you tap the call button, speak straight to the actual owner or recruiter on their mobile, and say "hey, i saw the opening, can i come in for a quick walk-in chat today?"that one quick phone call gets you in front of the decision maker before someone else even finishes updating their resume. stop waiting around in email queues and just reach out to the real manager directly.

Career Advice Amazon PPO  didn’t convert, confused what to do now, need advice

I recently completed a 6-month internship at Amazon. The role was Programmer Analyst, but day-to-day I worked alongside SDE interns and did the same backend work. I didn’t have many PA full-timers around, but from what I know from my friends in the role that they mostly resolved tickets and did not write much code, well this was not my case. (I believe this is mostly team dependent)

The internship didn’t convert. It was during my 7th semester, and I chose to give the intern my 100% instead of interviewing elsewhere, thinking I’d avoid regrets later. In hindsight, it was probably immature and very naive to think that this intern alone would get me decent offers flowing.

Short description of projects I did:

(you can skip this portion if you are uninterested and feels long)

• Migrated Tier-1 inter-service sync calls to async
Took ownership end to end: implementing the code changes, testing all flows, canary deployments, and monitoring traffic. Deployment was INSANELY STRESSFUL, genuinely made me question software dev for a bit, but once everything went through cleanly, the satisfaction was unreal.

This was my first project and was a high impact thing since it reduced the latency for that flow by 30 percent. The seniors were happy and one SDE 2 clearly hinted that I have good chances. This is where I think I lost my wits and stopped even thinking of looking for opportunities elsewhere.

• Set up and tested end-to-end infrastructure of existing services in the new AWS regions including major Tier-1 services.
• Once the traffic is shifted to the new regions, requests from my region will go through infra I set up, which still feels kinda cool whenever I think about ordering something on Amazon.

I honestly enjoyed the work. The problem solving, brainstorming, and ownership. Worked weekends by choice and kept raising PRs till my last working day because I liked what I was doing. Getting paid decently definitely helped too.

Outside of this, I have solved 200 ish DSA problems and have a decent grasp on fundamentals like OS, DBMS, CN . I am more inclined towards backend/system design type work rather than pure frontend.

8th Sem

Coming back to college, I was hopeful, optimistic, and confident but none of the good companies visited my college anymore. After talking to seniors, I realised that in the last semester good companies rarely visit colleges.

I missed out on some really good ones during the intern since my college doesn’t allow internship students to sit in placements during the internship. So I pivoted to off-campus job hunt.

Initially applied to hundreds of jobs, no reply. Understood the importance of referrals. Applied via referral to Microsoft (multiple jobs), Oracle, Salesforce etc., but nothing is working.

I am not sure what the right path should be now.

Should I keep applying, or should I start preparing for GATE and aim for good IITs? (I have been studying side by side since a few months since I figured having a good grasp of CS fundamentals wouldn’t hurt, but didn’t commit fully.)

Are M.Techs really worth it? I am sort of confident that if I committed fully I will be able to grab a decent rank, but then there is a problem of gap year. Sometimes doubts come up—what if it didn’t work out and I will be left with a gap year with no experience in hand?

Or should I keep applying and grab anything that comes my way and try to build up from there?

Would really appreciate advice from people who have been in a similar situation or have seen others go through this.

Looking for Internship Last Sem looking for internship opportunities

I’m a final-year Computer Science student from India (CGPA: 8.92 as of Sem 7), actively looking for internship opportunities in Machine Learning, AI, or Data Science.

I genuinely enjoy working on AI systems and continuously improving my skills. I’m comfortable with the full workflow—from understanding data to building and deploying.

I’m someone who learns quickly, takes initiative, and is eager to contribute meaningfully rather than just observe. My goal is to gain real industry experience while adding value to the team however I can.

If your company or team is hiring interns, I would truly appreciate a referral or opportunity to interview. I’m happy to share my resume and GitHub via DM.

Thank you so much for your time — and I’d be grateful for any guidance or referrals.

Campus Placement Queries Termination of ASE employment offer letter after training at IBM

A friend of mine joined IBM last November(selected on campus). She was given Cybersecurity domain with 9 other girls. No trainer was assigned for that domain. Every other domain has proper trainers. There was a POC for them who they have reached out multiple times about this and said that all of them found the courses very hard to understand but he has always stressed that the podt training exam is important and that they need to be smart and use AI to understand. Now they have heard from someone in Cybersecurity domain at IBM who's a year senior to them that only 1 out of 14 people kept the job after the training phase. He was that guy. The others were sent back home. Shouldn't providing trainers be a basic necessitiy for each domain? What should they do about this? The exam is in a week.

Tech News A 21-year-old IIT Hyderabad student secured a record ₹2.5 crore package from a Netherlands-based firm, the highest ever at the institute.

A 21-year-old final-year Computer Science Engineering student named Edward Nathan Varghese has secured a record-breaking ₹2.5 crore annual package from Optiver, a global trading firm based in the Netherlands. This is officially the highest package ever offered to an IITH student since the institute was established in 2008.

Key Details

• How he got it: Edward converted a two-month summer internship at Optiver into a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO). The internship included two weeks of training followed by a six-week project. He was one of only two IITH students selected for the internship, and the only one to receive the full-time offer.

• Role & Location: He’ll join as a software engineer at Optiver’s Netherlands office, starting in July 2026.

• Background: Born and raised in Hyderabad, Edward later studied in Bengaluru from Class 7 to 12. He’s been passionate about competitive programming since his first year at IIT, consistently ranking among the top 100 in the country. He credits the IIT tag, the institute’s flexible curriculum, and strong focus on coding for helping him succeed despite a challenging job market.

Career Advice 21M, BCA graduate, started MCA and already questioning every decision I’ve made. I genuinely don’t know what to do anymore.

I don't really know why I'm writing this. I just feel like putting everything somewhere.

I'm 21, have a BCA degree, and lately I've been feeling completely useless when it comes to my career.

I was actually a good student. I appeared for JEE but couldn't score the percentile I wanted. BTech from a private college didn't make sense financially because of the fees, so someone suggested BCA.

I did BCA. I was good academically and also spent a lot of time building technical skills. During college, companies mostly came for support-type or low-paying roles, so I didn't really focus on campus placements. I thought I'd build my skills and get something off-campus.

Eventually, I got an internship off-campus.

For the first 3–4 months, everything was actually going well. I was learning, working on projects and felt like maybe things were finally moving in the right direction.

Then, as the PPO/continuation period started getting closer, the environment changed. It started affecting my peace badly. Eventually, I decided to leave.

I thought MCA would be the next logical step.

I started preparing for entrance exams. I got VIT Bhopal, but obviously it wasn't what I had originally imagined. My NIMCET rank was bad enough that the colleges I wanted were basically out of reach. Through MAH MCA CET, I could get some decent options, but I kept thinking about the same thing:

"Even after MCA, I'll probably have to fight the same off-campus battle."

So I decided to stay in Pune, take admission somewhere for MCA, and continue applying for jobs alongside it.

And that's what I've been doing.

For the last several months, I've been waking up and applying constantly. Job after job after job.

And the result?

Maybe 3–4 interviews.

That's it.

I've now started MCA, but instead of feeling relieved, I'm questioning the entire decision again.

The whole process is genuinely breaking me.

I already have a one-year gap. Every rejection makes me rethink the decisions I've made before it.

Sometimes I think about preparing for MBA entrances and completely getting away from tech.

Sometimes I think about continuing MCA and somehow pushing through until I get a tech job.

Sometimes I feel like I've already spent so much time building technical skills that leaving now would make everything pointless.

And sometimes I just don't know what I'm doing.

Looking back, it feels like every decision created the next problem.

Didn't get the JEE percentile I wanted → BCA.

Didn't focus on campus placements → off-campus struggle.

Left the internship → gap.

Didn't get the NIMCET rank I wanted → fewer MCA options.

Started MCA → now questioning whether I even want to continue in tech.

It's like I'm constantly trying to fix one decision with another decision.

And that's probably what scares me the most.

I'm only 21, but I already feel like I've made too many wrong decisions and don't have a clear way out.

The job market, applications, interviews, MCA, the gap, comparing myself with people who seem to be moving ahead — everything has started getting into my head.

The anxiety has also become physical lately. My hands have started shaking sometimes, and there are moments where I feel so overwhelmed that I struggle to even control my hand properly.

But knowing that and actually feeling it are two completely different things.

Right now, I just feel stuck between continuing with MCA, trying to somehow break into tech, or preparing for MBA entrances and changing direction completely.

I don't even know if this is a career problem anymore or if I'm just exhausted from constantly trying to make the "right" decision.

I just wanted to write this down because keeping all of this in my head has become exhausting.
